The Palais Garnier(Paris Opera House) had it's ceiling repainted in the 1960's by a modern artist. The original painting is pic 3. This abomination is a prime example of the degradation and mockery of the Old World, something I come across often in my research.
The Trocadero Palace in Paris was said to have been built for the 1900 Exposition Universelle as a temporary structure. It remained standing until 1935.

Why did a 'power station' need this spiral staircase tower?
Lost in Dresden.

These are courthouses in Michigan. On my channel, I present courthouses by state. I even created a book featuring 200 of the most amazing American courthouses that no longer stand. Check my linktree in bio for more:
The library at the back of the Canadian Parliament building is something else. I even found a construction photo for you. Check out the shadowy figures posing for us at the top of the dome.
Have you ever looked into this one? Did you know they wanted to demolish it in the 1960's but realized it would bankrupt the city if they tried? We're lucky it still stands!
