I’ve been meaning to do this for some time: starting this week, I will be sharing my syllabus and recommended readings from the “Lies, Damned Lies, and Disinformation” course I taught in the spring semester @Georgetown SSP. I’ll be sharing some highlights from each week’s lesson.

And Prigozhin has now disbanded his fake news holding, leaving hundreds of fake news manufacturers, and likely thousands of trolls unemployed and unemployable. Expect waves of leaks from young people who suddenly found their conscience on the way out.

Oh the irony. RIA FAN, Prigozhin's fake news agency that initiated the designation of @bellingcat as "undesirable" and its blocking in Russia, has been blocked in Russia.

Absolutely. We need to make sure we don't trust misleading sources, yes, but we also need to make sure we identify and trust the reliable sources. That's a harder problem to solve for, and it's important we get it right.
"you can't trust anything that you see or hear” is precisely what IO threat actors would like most people to think, that they cannot trust or believe anything or anyone. we’ve got to be careful with how we frame this stuff
Top technologists portray a 2024 landscape in which misinformation and disinformation proliferate with a speed and ease that means "you can't trust anything that you see or hear."

Ruh roh the Kremlin propagandists are confused. Do they like Wagner now or do they not? What is the government line? Was it an insurrection or no big deal? 🤷🏼♀️ ft.com/content/a6fb9f42-f17b…
Very “no no no we have our shit together nothing to see here I’m not worried are you worried this was the plan all along” vibes
