'let him face a bit of adversity'? he literally came back from what's considered a career ending injury i think he's had his fair share of adversity already lmao
Lothar Matthäus believes that Uli Hoeneß' aim behind today's statements was to push Jamal Musiala and motivate him to come back and perform: "Uli is taking a little dig at him and trying to get under his skin a bit. It’s part of the process not just to wrap him in cotton wool, but also to let him face a bit of adversity. I thought it was okay for Uli to say that, because we shouldn't always sugarcoat everything and just wait until he's back. Jamal hasn’t really been back since the Club World Cup; he’s been out for 17 months, and played 3-4 games in between. He’s been out for seven weeks now because of a muscle strain, so you can’t just call that a strain anymore. Something else must have happened. With that statement, Uli was deliberately trying to provoke a reaction. If I were in Jamal's position, that would be motivation enough for me to show Uli that I’m back. And that would make Uli happy" [Sky90]
motivation???? if he cant play rn it's because of an injury, it has nothing to do with any lack of motivation. also im pretty sure jamal OF ALL PEOPLE does not need an old man to take digs at him to give him '''motivation''', he's been itching to play football more than anything

this is simply an unnecessary and overly cruel statement to make publicly… you’re own player is suffering from setbacks he cannot control and instead of continuing to support him in peace you decide to make a statement that will only invite more pressure and hate. i truly commend jamal for having the mental strength to keep fighting and picking himself back up when the world just wants to beat him down
Uli Hoeneß' statement on Jamal Musiala: "We're in a dilemma with him. He has an illness that cannot simply be cured, but can be managed to some extent with medication. However, whether he will ever regain the level of performance he once had remains uncertain... He is still receiving his salary, of course. But just imagine if FC Bayern were now to question his contract and say: 'What he is capable of delivering now is no longer what was stipulated in the contract.'" [@br24]
what a disgraceful and detrimental comment to make. i feel so bad for Jamal who's just trying his best to get back to his former level despite all the hardships piling up and fans doubting him. he doesn't need one of the club's most influential figures to add fuel to the fire.
