Mobygames has three of my credits (and a couple of someone else’s) under a misspelled variant of my name and I wonder if it was a transcription thing on their end or if my actual employers messed it up. mobygames.com/person/396098/…

I was able to make a character! After an hour a half. All is forgiven-ish.
Welcome to this "role playing game" you used to play. Want to play PvP and also on the same faction you've played for 20 years? Haha no sorry you can't.

It is a good thing that playing WoW Forever is a better experience than making a character in WoW Forever.

One of the most celebrated Call of Duty games in its 24-year history, and now $40B in lifetime franchise revenue. An incredible milestone. Congrats to the Activision team. And to the players, thank you for being with us.

I see a narrow path where AI can eliminate the entire concept of the powerpoint presentation.

I very often have no idea what I'm doing. But I appreciate that AI allows me to have no idea what I'm doing in a way that's disruptive to people who do know what they are doing.

Having returned to both recently... gameplay-wise retail is a lot better than forever. Socially, forever is a lot lot better.

It is pretty kickass when something you randomly wrote 8 years ago becomes an extremely useful reference for AI-driven tasks.

It's fun how you can instantly recognize AI-authored PowerPoints. This isn't a slight on anyone doing it. This is one thing that we blessedly never have to do by hand again.

Goose not crashing is a fantastic Goose-related advance since 1986.

This was one of the few times in the show that I thought a character was just about to make a good decision.

A very discouraging day, but with real progress on interesting stuff as well.

I have a vibe coded Rust version of a C++ preprocessor that is markedly faster than closed+open source versions I have to use. Asked AI to port it to Goose, got 1.07x speedup over the already fast Rust in first try. @wvo

The results were heavily caveated by the AI, hopefully the second pass will be even better.

Not a fan of this happening in the middle of a work day.

Right now the thing I want most is about 4x faster inference.

Every once in a while some celebrity whose entire career has been totally invisible to me will show up as the thing the algorithm thinks I should see seventy times a day, because they released a movie with a production company whose entire output has been invisible to me.

Download rustc source -> “Do a breakthrough”. Not as interesting as any of this but took my rust workspace tests down from 40 minutes in CI to 8m full, <5m incremental last week.
We're starting to see some agentic Rust forks (or alternative implementations) focused on iteration speed. More-so than the specific projects, I'm interested in the ideas being explored (and how they could evolve upstream), so wanted to collate a few here...
