This is what 'intelligence-led' policing & 'not making a martyr of anyone' looks like
This is what letting tech companies fill people's eyes with bigotry & hate looks like
It's what letting the same men organise hate for years without consequence looks like.

We've lost more than a person.
Sinéad O'Connor's art, what she stood for, and how she stood for it, changed so much for so many people.
I'm devastated by her loss, and holding on to her lessons.

why is everyone saying sinead "battled her own demons?"
she was one of very few brave enough to battle real demons: child predators, those who protected them in God's name, homophobia, greed that kills.....
she battled demons, yes- but they were us, not her.

My timeline is Palestine, socialist, feminist, pro trans, anti racist, eco socialist, Marxist, anti colonialism, anti borders, pro refugees, housing, health activism and I've never seen an evening where *everyone* is tweeting about one person -Sinéad O’Connor. She was a giant 💔

Struggling to write something succinct re the loss of Sinéad O’Connor… A trailblazer. Irish women in particular see something in her, her willingness to push back against infallible structures… we know how brave it is to do that & we saw the price she paid

Every Irish queer, woman and outcast is surely feeling Sinéad’s passing tonight.
Back in 2017 when I worked for TENI we got a call from her management asking could she donate her closet to us to as she was downsizing and wanted the clothes to go to trans folk in need.
An icon.
