#WellingtonOPP - While out on patrol, an officer located a group of individuals loading suspicious items into the back of a vehicle. Upon further investigation, the officer recovered approximately $1,200 worth of copper telecommunication wire. The damage to property and infrastructure is estimated to exceed $10,000. As a result, four individuals from Guelph have been charged with various offences including: • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000 Theft or damage to telecom lines isn’t just property crime, it can cut off 911, medical alerts, and essential internet/phone service. When lines go down, whole communities can lose access to emergency help. It puts lives at risk and disrupts daily life. Telecom wires are often targeted for their copper content, which is commonly resold at scrap yards, making them a target for theft. Wellington OPP urges the public to report any suspicious activity near telecom infrastructure. Any person with information regarding this incident should contact the Wellington OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Or call @CSGWtips at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) to remain anonymous. OPP reference number: E260279352. @wellingtncounty ^cm

Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy parked this absolute heartstopper of a song right in the middle of a hilarious mockumentary and I think about it a lot.

What awful news from Washington. Presumably this also ends any chances Turnberry has of hosting The Open for the foreseeable future too. The R&A can’t really award the event to them after such a devastating attack on accessible public golf. So sad. I am turning comments off on this post. I’ve never done that before but I can’t face reading the offensive comments which would no doubt come from some nutters on Hogmanay evening. If you do agree though feel free to like this post or retweet!
We are devastated to report that the Trump administration is officially terminating our 50-year lease with the National Park Service to manage and renovate the three courses. The termination is effective immediately.  Read more: washingtonpost.com/sports/20…

Copper wire theft across Canada is cutting off phone & internet access, including 911. This is not a victimless crime. It disrupts essential services & puts lives at risk. CTA’s Eric Smith joined @YourMorning to explain why urgent action is needed. tinyurl.com/ytt4duye

Are we at the dawn of a golden age of force majeure clauses? This is just one recent example of a supplier relying on an often overlooked clause.

ICYMI - Trump segment on Canada with Laura Ingraham. Trump torpedoes Liberal plan to run against Trump. He wants Canada weak "And possibly I'd rather deal with A liberal... The conservative that's running is stupidly no friend of mine.. I don't know him, but he said negative things" "It would be our biggest, most beautiful. It would be great, this state. It would be cherished" " We protect them. Do you know in NATO they pay less than anybody else" "Canada doesn't pay for military. They don't give any. They give us nothing" @IngrahamAngle
