It might not help you, but it definitely won't hurt you. Any virus you kill anywhere in your body is going to slow the infection down. What you need to do is slow it down to give your immune system time to respond to it if you aren't vaccinated.

Viruses are much more fragile than bacteria when they are outside of host cells. Antiseptics, soap, alcohol - all these things will kill viruses just fine when they are outside host cells.
