Rise above
Head steady. Be ready
Respond with the highest of highs
Shedding light of truth against darken lies
Rise above. Act with love
If we concede, the ego feeds
Temptation lets the rage out the cage
But hold steady. Let go of petty
Act with love and rise above #NPRpoetry

The best stories r 1s from our childhood. Those moments that stay & grow w/ u. 'The Day I Woke Up Different' r real childhood moments where we learned to navigate - looking different, double standards of girls-boys, & the wandering amidst growing up in 2+ cultures.

For the life of me I don’t know why more people aren’t calling for a deal to be done - millions are suffering and any functioning government would have passed additional relief months ago.

Fundamentally human beings are the same. Imagine being lost in some remote place and suddenly seeing someone coming towards you over the horizon. You wouldn't care about their race, nationality or religious faith, you'd be filled with the joy of encountering another human being.
