Housing Action's Bob Palmer talks w/@CapitolNewsIL about the uncertain eviction landscape in IL. If @GovPritzker extends our moratorium until 10/3 to match the federal one, it will give time for more renters to access emergency $ and for a court-based protection program to start.
It's unclear what the next steps are for the state when it comes to an eviction moratorium, but courts are preparing for a larger role if a Sept. 1 expiration happens as scheduled. My story on the state of evictions in Illinois:
School is starting in a week. @ILfoodbank wants to make sure everyone has a full tummy! St. Paul's UCC will also be on hand with a diaper distribution. See you tomorrow!

Every state needs to pass these prohibitions against sit/lie local ordinances along with a massive expansion of affordable housing to pressure the local communities to actually work to end homelessness and not resort to law enforcement moving pple around. kgw.com/article/news/local/h…

BIG thanks to @RepCasten for stopping by the Senior Center today to deliver meals to some of our homebound residents in Bartlett. In April, volunteers delivered 2,649 meals to residents across the Township. We're always looking for new volunteers! 📨 [email protected]

According to @naehomelessness, the number of adult Trans people experiencing unsheltered homelessness has increased 113% since 2016, and the number in shelters has increased 88% in the same period. This #PrideMonth, let's work to reverse this trend. ❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜
