The approach comes straight from @317070 and the @GoogleDeepMind / EPFL team's 2022 work on TCV: train the controller in simulation, then run it at loop speed.
Mine is one dimension and a lookup table. Theirs flew real plasma shapes. Would love to know where the toy breaks down.
A tall plasma in a fusion reactor wants to fall into the wall. In a real machine you get milliseconds to stop it.
I built a little model where you try. Then hand it to a controller that worked out every answer in advance and just looks them up.
