Sjögren's is often referred to as an invisible illness because many of the disease manifestations cannot be seen but you are not alone. Visit sjogrens.org to learn more & thank you RAHealthCentral for sharing this E-Card.

RNLI cartoon.

ALT A black-and-white cartoon titled “The RNLI: Some of the people they help.” Six panels show people being rescued: a man stranded after not checking tide times; a YouTuber attempting to swim the Channel with no preparation; a middle-lane hogger; a neighbour who votes differently to you; a utility company boss whose superyacht has run out of fuel; and people crossing the Channel in a small boat. A final line of text: “All human beings - all deserve saving.”

Stop judging people with chronic illnesses by how you think they should look or behave. Dr Amir Khan once again hits the nail on the head. #ME #chronicillness

Press & politicians keep saying theres been a huge rise in claims of ADHD / depression / anxiety as a "main condition" for PIP, but that's not how the form works? You don't claim a main condition; you just list them all.
Again, something they're hoping the public doesn't know.
Especially when they take months to respond - despite GPs frequent pleading for an answer. I ended up with an emergency appointment weeks before the reply arrived
GPs must keep their right to refer directly to consultant colleagues without obligatory triage through advice and guidance systems, doctors say

A reminder. Don’t complain about Christmas traditions being watered down in public life if you’re not in the pews of a church on Christmas morning.

GP Amir Khan: "These are human beings, they're not economic units.. yes we do need to help some people back to work, but pointing the finger at the sick to help the economy I don't think is the right approach"
Well said doctor #GMB

Disability benefits are a lifeline for disabled people who face extra costs.
Yet the government plans to slash them ✂️
As @Adam_Pearson said at the Scope Awards in May, they aren't a 'perk'. They're vital.
Thank you @tobyperkinsmp

Liz Kendall just compared Labours plans to get more people with disabilities into work with how they previously helped get more women into work. The answer then was affordable childcare. You can't pay someone to look after your illness or disability while you go out to work.
At the fifth attempt, I have made it to the hospital for hip surgery. Good news is I have my own room (and bathroom!). They're keen to get me home tonight if at all possible

Another brilliant, heart-stopping, unputdownable read 📚📖

"No 10 and Treasury figures think significant reductions are needed in the welfare budget, including to personal independence payments."
Why is it always the sick and poor who have to make sacrifices for a govt budget?
Why aren't the rich asked to share a little of their luxury?

A gentle reminder that many colleagues and pupils may not have had a lovely Christmas.
It might have been awful.
They may be very happy to be back where it feels safe, or where there's routine, or where there's company.
They may be dreading the question 'what did you do then' or

Another example of how difficult it is to predict time to death and how assisted dying could rob people of valuable time with family. telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/01…
