theyll say that to anyone less functional than them while going "well i understand that its hard but if you just try you can do it! look at me! i can do it, so should you!". there isnt any method of "functionality mobility", at least not any that's broadly applicable ...

but the mere specter of someone else who's more functional implies that it _must_ be possible, so any deficiencies come out of a lack of trying. there's no empathy in this phenomenon, not least for oneself
