Seems like the most countercultural thing a Christian could do is love their political opponents in thought, word, & deed.

I asked 50 Japanese people, ages 9 to 91, one question.
"What do you admire most about Americans?"
Here are the top answers.
10. "They clap when the plane lands." (Office worker, 34)
9. "They say 'I love you' every time they hang up the phone. Even men. Even to other men." (Taxi driver, 61)
8. "A stranger told me she liked my shoes. Then she just walked away. She didn't want anything." (High school girl, 16)
7. "They thank the bus driver when they get off." (Bus driver, 55. He got emotional saying this.)
6. "They tell you their whole life story in the grocery line. I know about one man's divorce, his boat, and his knee surgery. We knew each other for four minutes." (My mother, 64)
5. "They stand for the anthem at a children's baseball game." (Little League coach, 47)
4. "When they lose, they shake hands and say 'good game.' And they mean it." (Sota, 12)
3. "They fly the flag on a regular Tuesday. No holiday. Just because." (Nurse, 28)
2. "They help a stranger push a car out of the snow, then leave without saying their name." (My cousin's husband, 52, who got stuck in Colorado once)
And the number one answer came from the oldest person I asked. My grandfather. He's 91.
He thought about it for a long time.
Then he said:
"They still believe tomorrow will be better than today."
I asked him what he meant.
"In 1946, we had nothing," he said. "The American soldiers I met were young and far from home. But they acted like the future was coming, and it was going to be good. After a while, we started to believe them."
I asked him if he thought Americans still believe that.
He nodded slowly.
"Tell them," he said, "not to stop."
Jack went to the vet today. His knee is looking good. He’s about a month away from being recovered from both knee surgeries. He gets to start going for longer and longer walks now. My rescue puppy will be healthy again soon.
Grocery run today. Already hit Sam’s Club & about to head home. Spotted this post… doubled back & picked up @redbaronpizza. It wasn’t on the list, but I support companies that do right by their people. Talked to the kids & they agree we’re gonna eat red Baron going forward.
A quick disclaimer, I don’t typically post about my shopping decisions based on social media outrage or whatever. I don’t want to be a part of virtue signaling or any of that other nonsense.
Watching the guy’s reaction just broke my heart. I don’t plan on doing this again.
#Boom they made the right call.
Replying to @redbaronpizza
@redbaronpizza read the quote tweets and comments. This guy struck a chord. You have an opportunity to stand with this guy and win so much credibility. Help him out and you’ll win more loyal customers than you can imagine. It’s an opportunity for a reverse bud light.
You can hear the hurt in this guys voice. It’s so relatable to me, because he’s most likely a truck driver like I am.
When I told my company a few years ago that I needed to be home several months in advance, sending constant reminders, because I’m moving, they got me home a day late and I nearly missed my move in date.
I was angry and I almost quit on the spot.
Now imagine having kids and your company tells you that you have to work a little extra, when you were supposed to be home an hour ago, but have 10 more stores to deliver to.
If someone does launch a GOFUNDME for him, I will donate a considerable amount. 🙏🏾
This is how you do it… it’s such an easy win…
If @redbaronpizza seized the moment, paid the guy’s debt, gave him a vacation with his kids, covered some therapy, & billed it as standing with American workers they’d win more customers for life than any advertising campaign, could ever hope to accomplish.
Just be better.

FOUR KIDS AT HOME AND THEY'RE FILMING HIM FOR CLOUT??
Harmless content, or picked the wrong guy?
A Red Baron rep is stocking a grocery store freezer when a couple of young people with a camera start messing with him. He snaps, then tells them he has to be up at 5 in the morning, he's still out working late, he's got four kids at home and he can't pay his mortgage.
If that were my son holding that phone, the video would come down and he'd be finding that man to apologize to his face.
Yes, he lost his cool. Calling somebody a punk on camera never helps your case.
Now look at what he's carrying. Early mornings, more stores to hit, four kids and a mortgage. And somebody decided his bad day would make good content.
There's a guy like him in every grocery store in America, grinding through the shift nobody sees. Turning one of them into the punchline isn't edgy. It's lazy.
Leave the working man alone. He's got enough on his plate.
This is an easy win or a catastrophic loss… deep down I suspect that there’s a boardroom somewhere where someone’s advising Red Baron to sit quiet as possible, and hope it blows over…
