Admiral (Prof.) Jayanath Colombage, Distinguished Fellow of the Pathfinder Foundation, addressed a BRI–Sri Lanka seminar for university students, discussing Sri Lanka’s strategic autonomy, Indian Ocean geopolitics, and balancing economic development with national security.
Sri Lanka and India were urged to strengthen action against illegal fishing, with Admiral (Prof.) Jayanath Colombage warning of security risks. Pathfinder Foundation also proposed exploring Kachchativu’s potential for fisheries research and conservation.
