Today is Feast Day of Bishop St Raphael Hawaweeny of Brooklyn - missionary to America. "With the growth of his New York community came an increase in the number of children, and he was concerned about their future. He wanted to establish an evening school to educate them in a Christian atmosphere, because the future of the Church in this country depended upon the instruction of the youth. Children who did not speak Arabic were already going to non-Orthodox churches where Sunday school classes were conducted in English. I was able to watch this presentation and found it full of fascinating historical details and facts which reveal a very untenable position for all the โ€œtrueโ€ jurisdictions, since the problems lie early on in the 1930s and 1950s. Well worth an attentive listen for all those troubled or tempted with the methodology of the โ€œtrueโ€ groups.
