Doug DeMuro ranked the @Tesla Model S as the #1 most important car of the last 30 years in his new video.
Doug: "The Model S really changed the world. It made you think that EVs could be cool, fast, luxurious. It really reset any public opinion about EVs, that you didn't have to make major compromises; They (Tesla) created a cultural icon. If you created a list of the top 10 all-time cars that changed the world, Model S is in the top 5."

Reliability is everything when you live in cold climate, and for this family, their EVs have become their tried-and-true vehicles. We sat down with Ingrid to talk about why her family keeps choosing electric and why it’s so convenient even in sub-zero temperatures. ⚡️❄️

From Dan Wang’s new book. Interesting thesis. Engineers do tend to think in terms of solving problems. Lawyers profit when there are unsolvable problems. 🇨🇳

Batteries are one of the most valuable infrastructure bets of the coming years
They:
✅ Store during abundance and supply during peak demand
✅ Discharge clean energy when the sun doesn’t shine and the wind doesn’t blow
✅ Provide emergency grid support

If we keep using gas, prices will go higher+higher

Tesla's Massive Impact
With 7.5 million Teslas sold since 2012 here's a rough estimate of the annual impact of all those Teslas:
1) 3.2 billion gallons of gasoline not burned every year - cutting emissions by around 30 million metric tons of CO₂.
2) About $10.4 billion saved annually* by not buying gas. Some of that goes to electricity, but most of it stays in drivers' pockets.
3) 2,133 fewer gas stations needed (assuming the average gas station sells about 1.5 million gallons per year).
4) 7.5 million people (plus their families) who don't have to stop at nasty gas stations.
5) 7.5 million people who resolve "recalls" with over-the-air software updates without wasting time at sleazy car dealerships.
6) No oil changes - so there's another 25 million gallons of motor oil saved (assuming oil changes every 5,000 miles and 5 quarts of oil used).
7) 7.5 million fewer tailpipes = better air quality, especially in urban areas. That means fewer asthma cases and less respiratory illness.
* Assumes 13,500 miles driven per year, 32 MPG (if they were driving an ICE car) and a fuel cost of $3.25 per gallon (conservative as fuel costs in Europe are almost double that in the U.S.).
I realize that not all 7.5 million Teslas are in operation today - sadly some were lost in accidents with Hondas (@WhamBaamX) and a few more were torn apart by @teardowntitan.
Not an exhaustive list.
