I know everyone is cranky about the time change next weekend… but on the bright side (pun intended) the sun will be bright in the sky already at this time next week

It was clear at this point 14 years ago that Sandy would make landfall in our region. Preparations began across multiple states especially along shore front communities.

Here is a look at where the growing season and Frost/Freeze program is active vs. inactive across our area. The red shaded areas have experienced a widespread freeze. Much of the green shaded area has experienced frost, but not a freeze, and thus the growing season continues.

An active jet stream pattern could help spawn around 2x more strong storms than normal near the East Coast. “Our main concern across the Northeast is for a higher frequency of nor’easters, which can have substantial impacts on our beaches and coastal towns,” said @pcavlin.

This week marks the 44th anniversary of a truly remarkable day at MCO: the dual landing of Concorde aircraft from Air France & British Airways. 🛬 The historic event took place in 1982 to celebrate the opening of EPCOT's World Showcase and its France and United Kingdom pavilions

This was not about harvesting olives. It was about harvesting headlines. Brad Lander’s latest stunt is nothing more than a calculated political provocation. Lander traveled to a foreign country, deliberately entered a restricted security area, and participated in an unauthorized activity without the required coordination. What makes this stunt even more outrageous is that his own team contacted Israeli representatives in the United States ahead of his visit and was explicitly informed that proper coordination with the relevant authorities was required. He chose to ignore those instructions. At a time of heightened security tensions, Israeli security forces have a responsibility to protect lives, prevent dangerous incidents, and maintain public order. Had anyone been injured as a result of his reckless political theater, Lander would undoubtedly have been among the first to demand that Israeli authorities intervene and provide protection. Brad Lander came looking for a confrontation. Now he is pretending to be its victim.

8pm EDT Sun 18th Oct: NHC is monitoring a non-tropical low pressure area developing off the SE U.S. coast. This system now has a medium chance (🟠40%) of becoming a subtropical cyclone, primarily during the 2nd half of this week. Regardless of development, the system will cause high winds, coastal flooding, & dangerous surf along portions of the U.S. East Coast. Please see warnings from your local @NWS offices & @NWSWPC. hurricanes.gov/gtwo.php?basi…

Meanwhile today is my pick day of the week… Immaculate fall vibes today. Perfectly comfortable in the sun
Sunday’s Weather Rating: 4/10 It’s legitimately chilly out there this morning!! Warming up into the low 60s later with partly sunny skies and a blustery north wind. It’s not terrible, but the vibes are a little too cold out there today!!
