I will never forget that Iraola in the summer said Liverpool don’t need a defensive midfielder.

Iraola is beginning to accumulate some bad records....

WHY SLOT WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST
The Amazing Arne Slot doesnt get enough credit for this but he just indirectly got it from the great Luis Enrique
95% of twats say he won it with Klopps team but they know absolute shit
He reset Klopps Team
Re-invented Luis Diaz (most fans wanted to sell him)
Re-Deployed Szobo into advanced defensive Midfield Allowing Trent and Salah to do their stuff
Told Salah not to track back and got Szobo to cover for him and also Trent forward runs.
Finally Gravenberch to a 6 where he invited the press and walked through it.
THATS UNIQUE COACHING
This season Fabian has got ahead of the Curve with Brighton but the other coaches are now getting to grips with his tactics and second half of the season they will find ways to stop him just as they did with Arne around March
The old style the system conquers all is dead.
Its why Klopp would get crucified if he ever came back and Pep didnt want to have to change every season.

But but his fave won Liverpool’s second PL title in 36 years and he did it in his first season in charge. Is this the standard you all were crying for?

Slot actually won the league with his own ideas. He encouraged the team to hold the ball more and invite the press and beat it. Teams stopped taking the bait and started going deeper. He anticipated it and brought wirtz but we had lost Trent and luis diaz. Also, JOTA DIED!
Klopp inherited the weakest squad of the three and built Liverpool into title contenders from scratch.
Slot inherited a ready-made squad and won the title without removing Klopp's DNA. Then he brought in his own philosophy and his own players, and the club backed his vision like no one before. It failed badly.
Iraola's situation is bizarre. He's inherited the expensive signings who didn't fire under Slot, and players like Gravenberch and Szoboszlai on big new contracts who still haven't found their feet in his system. There are gaping holes in the squad on top of that.
Worse, he's expected to fix it almost immediately, because he has "expensive players" and a better squad than Klopp ever started with.
Under Slot, these players were outrun week in, week out. Iraola's whole game is built on outrunning the opposition. He's being asked to wave a magic wand, shake them out of last season's slumber, and turn us into world-beaters overnight

I know last season was really bad and he probably did deserve to be sacked but look at some of the football we played in Slot's 1st season compared to what we have done this season. In this video alone, we have a much clearer plan to create chances.

I don't trust him one bit. He has to earn our trust especially because he's won nothing as a coach. I can support him but until he wins a trophy, I can't trust him.
This only proves how embarrassing the fanbase was and how badly the players let Slot down. He took the fall for everyone's shortcomings. If we continue this way, we're heading towards becoming Man Utd. Do people think that rot will stop with Slot? It'll consume Iraola too, sadly.
I agree with you the season was bad but I think he deserves a chance for his first season. If he hadn’t led us to the victory we will still be on a trophy in 30plus years. However I don’t think this manager is it, he finished below slot twice.

Agreed 100% that was the main reason the season went to shit. I backed Slot almost to the end, but regardless of the circumstances the football was still played, and he lost the confidence of the dressing room/the home crowd, whether it was fair or not. We weren’t working towards anything, it’s the manager’s job to sell his vision during tough times and give people hope things will change. Right decision to sack him imo, but nothing but respect for him, he was very unlucky.
You mean the same season jota died and the players are grieving ,Robbo said recently they lost interest in football and the coach was the only reason they played he even at to apologize to the new players that joined? I guess it doesn’t count to tou people.

Slot was given the season and the performances didn’t improve. He lost the players and the fans, Iraola hasn’t had the time and still has most fans and the players on board.
