A populist demagogue tricked low information voters into abolishing democracy for the price of groceries. What nobody told you, prices for groceries ain't coming down. Because you know climate, floods and drought and such and Trump's mass deportations /1

The big lesson of the Biden years is that you have to prosecute these people. You can’t just move on. You need to make the next generation of grifters and hate mongers scared for their lives.

Schumer didn’t “miss.” He chose to lose Florida to keep a Black anti-Zionist out of the Senate. He was very clear about his priority.
One big question that is starting to emerge tonight.. did national Democrats miss a massive opportunity to invest in Florida?

.@JamesTalarico: This is a win the size of Texas. And we now have a mandate the size of Texas. We must get Big Money out of our politics so no billionaire — or trillionaire — can buy an election. We must unrig this economic system that only benefits the top 1%. We must pass universal healthcare so no one goes bankrupt just because they get sick. We must invest in our teachers and our students so every underdog has a fighting chance. We must end these corrupt forever wars that are driving up prices and killing our brave men and women in uniform.

.@JamesTalarico: We didn’t win by alienating our neighbors, or by shaming our neighbors, or by ridiculing our neighbors. We embodied a new kind of politics. A politics rooted in a deep love — for our state, for our country, and for all of our neighbors. My faith teaches me that love is the strongest force in the universe. Love is not passive. Love is not neutral. Love is not weak. Love requires that we stand between the bullies and the bullied. Love requires that we look evil in the eye and not blink. Love can heal what’s broken in America.

Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face. These results were only possible because outstanding candidates stepped forward in every region of the country — including in areas once considered long shots. They came from different backgrounds and represented a range of political perspectives, but were united by shared values, a belief in public service, and a commitment to putting the people of their districts and states first. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the thousands of election officials and volunteers from both parties who helped ensure a smooth election and carried out one of the most essential functions of our democracy. While this administration has another two years in office, our job now is to roll up our sleeves, make changes wherever we have the power to do so, prevent further damage, and lay the groundwork for the future.

What if a federal agent walks into a polling place and demands the ballots? Watch this civics video. States run elections. No federal agency can seize ballots without a lawful court-issued warrant. Even then, it would be extraordinary federal interference in how states run their elections.

Donald Trump's dangerously low Halloween flyover was a reckless vanity stunt. He terrified local residents, disrupted flights and risked aviation safety to parade around his new Qatar-gifted toy—wasting taxpayer dollars, even as prices keep soaring. I'm demanding answers.

okay Monday morning, US election week. Let me get this straight: - grocery stores throughout Europe have had their fridges turned up to 100+ degrees by unknown hackers - aka exactly what a sophisticated actor would do if they wanted to disrupt US east coast food supply next week - US military bases already had essentially the same thing happen last week - founder of Shopify tweets there’s a TCP vulnerability that basically makes every server on earth that’s not a managed service completely remotely controllable - a nontechnical 26 year old hacked several major banks using only chatbots - billions of dollars successfully stolen from different exchanges in several countries, notably most of that was $6.3b from binance in just 20 minutes. They’re “fine” per the CEO. Okay lol - random civilian private jet crashes a few miles outside trumps house yesterday, right as Tucker Carlson of all people warns us Trump might be considering using nukes - US Senator who warned about the same thing recently “had a stroke” over the weekend, alright sure - bibi lost his majority so his only chance to stay in power is for a new war to begin - Poland currently in constitutional crisis/coup, both it and Lithuania just sent troops to the border w/Russia. NATO did the same in Latvia. Turkey moved fighter jets to the border too. - Germany’s leaders phones all hacked - openai and Anthropic are going to release gpt-6.2 and fable 5.5 after elections this week because somehow more capable models will help? lol no - many streets in downtown DC is shut down right now for a speech today outside the Lincoln memorial? - DOJ trying to pull ballots in California - documentaries openly critical of Elon & Zuck are BOTH pulled from theaters in just weeks because nobody knew about them and went to saw them. Not suspicious at all. - oh and Russia and Ukraine both had their nuclear alerts hacked and sent false alerts of “impending air raids, chemical, and nuclear attacks” what could go wrong! Unbelievably, there is not a hint of any of this on my Facebook, insta, tiktok, reddit, threads, blue sky, or LinkedIn feeds. You can ask any ai except chat about it and it goes, no yeah that’s about right. ChatGPT goes “you’re not allowed to ask about this” I can’t decide if that’s a very good thing and we finally figured out the emotional and psychological dangers of social media algorithms (except elon 🙄) OR it’s actually really bad people are voting in the dark What a strange moment in time. And I’m supposed to send emails today?! For sure

October 23: Democrat Heidi Kuhn, a candidate for the U.S. House from Tennessee, gets into a serious car crash in Memphis. Broken nose, fractured upper jaw, whiplash. October 24: Mary Peltola, the Democratic candidate in one of Alaska’s key Senate races, is involved in a car crash with her family on the way to a campaign event. Another vehicle hits theirs. Peltola needs medical attention, and part of her campaign schedule has to be canceled. October 31: Chris Murphy, one of the most prominent Democrats on the national stage and a potential 2028 presidential candidate, suddenly suffers a stroke at 53. And then there’s Marcy Kaptur, the Ohio Democrat who was hospitalized in August after a hit-and-run crash. What the fuck is going on?

Musk is under criminal investigation for election interference in France and a laundry list of other crimes including child sexploitation materials found..
France is showing the world what real accountability looks like. Paris prosecutors have launched a major criminal investigation into Elon Musk’s X, raided its Paris offices and summoned Musk and former CEO Linda Yaccarino for questioning. The allegations are staggering, political manipulation through algorithms, child sexual abuse material, sexually explicit deepfakes generated by Grok without consent, Holocaust denial, unlawful data extraction and election interference. While Musk parades around pretending to be a defender of free speech, his platform faces allegations involving the exploitation of children, the sexual abuse of women through AI-generated imagery, the manipulation of political discourse and threats to democratic elections. Bravo, France! This is what standing up to billionaire arrogance looks like. Democracy is not a billionaire's personal playground, social media platforms are not above the law, and Elon Musk does not get to buy himself immunity from accountability. France is making it clear that the rule of law still matters, and the rest of the democratic world should be paying attention.
