The reinstatement of the William Morris room @V_and_A was one of my first projects. The Morris collection is a must for all budding decorators, artists, conservators & designers. A pen, a brush & a cut that created a movement that reshaped interior & textile design forever.

Following the successful outcome of the auction, there is now an air of cautious optimism echoing from the halls and across the gardens of Kinmel Hall. @nesfieldscrown has endured neglect beyond comprehension. Mark Twain wrote, “The rumours of my death are greatly exaggerated”.
Kinmel Hall sale will take weeks to complete, then weeks for @ConwyCBC to issue the new owner with urgent repairs notices. Until roof repair works begin to replace missing lead and stop the leaks, it's all just meaningless platitudes and hot air, as we've had for the past decade.
“Cometh the hour, cometh the man”. The custodianship of Kinmel Hall will likely change hands within this hour under a online gavel. Outliving all of us, the future purpose of this incredible building swings in the balance.

We are witnessing an enormous architectural crime in 2021. As the interiors of @WaddesdonManor continue to reflect its palatial charm and welcome guests into its sumptuous interior, the ornamentation of Kinmel Hall falls to the floor in ruins as the roof and walls give way.

Classic multiple repairs over decades & probably centuries Steve - from essential to good to terrible in both labour & material. Always an important challenge for the longevity of the building. Remove the cement repairs with care or leave & the stone will suffer long term.
