Yeah this kinda thinking was around when my mum was a kid🤦🏼‍♀️ She’s now driving around in a hybrid😊 If the UK didn’t have an army back then we would have been overrun by a fascist dictator. Seriously Brian…

It was a privilege as Chair of the APG to launch our report examining the size & scope of commercial sexual exploitation in NI. It’s the first of its kind & I hope it will protect future women from being trafficked & exploited for sex with clear, actionable recommendations.

👉France doesn't have a "right wing government" 👉The economic costs of the rioting will be in the region of £1billion to £1.5billion (not including human cost) 👉The figure above means there is *less* money to actually deal with the problem. Honestly🤦‍♂️
"People power and the communities that right-wing governments want to smash is the only thing that will save society. "From Paris to the Garvaghy Road, only ordinary people looking out for what’s right and what they deserve will make governments listen." Read Aoife Moore: tinyurl.com/246ykrhe

This has caused significant disruption to over 150 of our schools and therefore to thousands of pupils across NI. Many of us who are parents have been effected. It is my understanding that PSNI are now treating the incident as a hoax. A truly despicable act.

𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐍𝐈 - 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐈𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 renewni.co.uk Northern Ireland today is a place transformed. In a generation, we have come from conflict to build a peaceful, democratic society. Across our communities, people live, work and build their lives together, within a settlement that respects difference. There is a shared sense of belonging and a quiet pride in what we call home. Too often, that story is overlooked. The conversation drifts towards division. Confidence has been shaken by instability, pressure on public services and uncertainty about what lies ahead. We focus too much on competing futures, instead of improving the present we already share. But Northern Ireland is changing. More people are looking beyond old divisions. The foundations are already in place. A growing economy. Ambitious and talented young people, with the ability to deliver. This is our moment to move forward with confidence. To realise that opportunity, a stronger case for Northern Ireland must be made. Renew NI exists to lead that work. Bringing together evidence, ideas and practical solutions. Building a clear, positive vision that reflects our strengths and meets our challenges head on. A future where more people feel proud, not just of what we have overcome, but of what we are building together. A Northern Ireland that delivers. Confident in ourselves. Clear in our direction. We can build a Northern Ireland people don’t just live in, but believe in.

We are happy to welcome all sorts to East Belfast. Even happier when some of them leave. Here’s a wee reminder for Lasair Dhearg… the 6 counties help build the British ships that keep the 26 counties safe too. 🇬🇧😂
Recently, Lasair Dhearg activists erected a banner at Navantia, Harland & Wolff Belfast as part of our Decolonisation campaign. In a socialist republic, Ireland will be completely decolonised, including businesses that are complicit in or profiting from imperialism.

I see this particular leopard hasn’t changed his spots, yet the mainstream media continue to regard him as a credible commentator. Surely the least we can expect from professional commentators is that they are capable of debate without engaging in personal abuse?

I'm not an Orangeman nor did I think that it was wise to return to this issue after 28 years. But all it took was the prospect 35 men walking in silence at 8 am in the morning, for those who talked for half a decade about a "New Ireland for everyone" to show their true face.

"Earlier this year some polls put the Greens on 20%, making them a credible electoral force and a serious threat to the future of the Labour Party. Mere months later the Greens are polling at 7% and party leader, Zack Polanski, has the lowest approval ratings of any political party leader on -28" care.org.uk/news/2026/10/a-g…

Today is the day that any concept of a “New Ireland” died. The lies, spin and promises. It was always nonsense, and that had been laid bare. I never want any discord. I want to build a brighter future for Northern Ireland - for all of us. I work to that every day. I believe every person in this place I serve sees that. When others, including the First Minister and her party, have behaved with utter recklessness and disregard for stability and our institutions, I believe in responsibility. I have always embraced those who are different from who I am, and endeavoured to show respect. I have witnessed the tradition I come from treated with such utter contempt and hatred. “Little room, Great Hatred” that is what I’ve seen. That is what we have all saw with our own eyes. I come from the Orange tradition. I am deeply proud of the warmth, compassion, depth and richness of that tradition. All of our traditions come from particular aspects or “sects”. By its very nature, they are “of “something and not “of” something else. They are exclusionary by the very nature of it pertaining to the particular tradition, beliefs or views of some, but it is not exclusionary by experience or engagement. Every religious order or community is exclusionary by doctrine, but not by outreach. We all deserve respect. That respect and tolerance threatens no one. It is hard to believe I have to explain the basics of this so many years after the principles of the Glorious Revolution and our human rights and civil rights frameworks, but here we are. I have been deeply, deeply offended by the way my traditions and culture have been described, treated and expressed. The behaviour, and jubilance tastelessly and appalling shown by some tonight only shines a light on their intolerance, hatred and ignorance. I will never be goaded into punishing the people of Northern Ireland for the reckless of Sinn Fein. But I am disgusted and furious of those who have played to their base and not for what is for everyone. In this election you have a choice - choose those who want Northern Ireland to work, and those who do all they can to make it so.

Hook it into my veins. They never condemned a Green Party NI councillor, Anthony Flynn, who filmed scared women speaking at LWS. The party from GPEW, to GPS to GPIreland is corrupt. They jeered when I lost my tribunal. They are not a serious party. Awful awful awful. And I speak as someone who worked in comms. @NewtonEmerson be careful what you wish for

Conor Bradford was a wonderful BBC journalist with a very warm and sincere personality. I recall an interview he did with me, before I was even involved in politics, and after it I remember thinking, what a lovely fella. My thoughts are with his family at this time.
