Amazing stuff @DivideClass a pretty monumental achievement and demonstration of what a grass roots movement can achieve. Also hats off to @BrightonHoveCC for recognising how important and impactful this will be.
The Children, Young People, and Schools committee of @BrightonHoveCC has voted to approve the creation of a new priority group - children eligible for free school meals - in the secondary school admissions process in the city. We believe this is the first time this has happened.

Solidarity with all my friends and former colleagues @uniofbrighton Such a shortsighted move which is going to have long lasting and profound impacts. Sign the petition chng.it/DfjtGTPK
Today @uniofbrighton has announced its intention to make more than 100 redundancies saving £17.9m. But our SMT have just SPENT a similar amount buying Virgin Active out of a lease. We will fight this failure of management. RT to support our fight! #ucuRISING #BrightonUniStrike

I NEED EVERY UCU MEMBER AND SUPPORTER TO RT THIS. The Education Secretary admitting that Universities are awash with cash and could afford to settle our disputes - but they choose not to. Share if you will strike, protest and rally until they do.

Between dodgy covid contracts and Truss the tories lost around £60 billion, yet we have to pay for their mistakes. It’s like me robbing a bank and telling people I have never met to pay it back. #GeneralElectionNow #ToryCorruption #ToriesOut133

Apologies for the radio silence. We have been working on the latest paper. A fitting time what with the imminent strikes. Thanks to all of you who participated in our project, without you this wouldn't be possible! @drmarkerickson @carl1545 @phannadr link.springer.com/article/10…

As the Conservative party begins the process of electing another leader – and therefore, a de facto election of the Prime Minister – here’s a summation of our application for judicial review on the way it elects its leader. 🧵⬇️

Great short video on social class and mental ill health from the fantastic @reavey_paula
There's a clear link between social class background and mental ill health. 'Higher rates of threat are linked to anxiety and paranoia, which are found in communities of higher deprivation.' @reavey_paula #MakeIt10 : bit.ly/SocialClassPrt… xitter.cf/BPSOfficial/status/155…

As I move out of my office and leave academia I am left with mixed emotions. Whilst I could write an extensive thread on the reasons I am leaving, I decided it better to simply acknowledge some of the great people I have met along the way…
