There are a handful of straightforward responses to this common argument.
First, that animals do this sometimes is not evidence of a gender identity. It's not evidence of anything. They don't/can't have gender identity.
Second, they are the lower animals and their behaviors have nothing to say about human moral agency. Some animals eat their young.
Third, "is" is not the same as "ought." You can't draw moral conclusions about humans from animal behavior. Again, some animals eat their young.
A bunch of 20-something fools and snakes.
They have nothing on the enduring faithful saints.
