A few months ago a coworker showed me something he built. I brushed it off, then had an idea two minutes later and had a mockup that night. I had never written a line of production code before that.
Today PickLock is live on the App Store.
It's pick'em with your friends on real lines. You join a league, make five picks a week, and assign each one a multiplier from 1x to 5x based on how confident you are. Scoring runs off the actual odds, so a chalk favorite at 5x can lose you the week against one longshot at 1x. That's the whole game. No entry fees, no payouts, no sportsbook. Just standings and the group chat.
The thing I wanted and couldn't find: fantasy football is great until your season dies in Week 3 because of an ACL. You draft in August and you're stuck with it. Here you start clean every week. No injuries to manage, no bye weeks, no waiver wire at 3am. If you think you're better at this than your friends, now there's a record of it.
What's in there:
Full analytics on your hit rate by bet type, sport, and multiplier
Live odds across NFL, CFB, NBA, MLB, NHL
Auto grading off official finals, usually within a minute of the whistle
League chat, shareable slips, and a player card that looks like a FUT card
An in-app AI called Plok that gives you the bull and bear case on any pick
A solo mode if you just want to track your own picks
You can look around without making an account. There's a button on the login screen that drops you into a demo league so you can see the whole thing first.
Built with React, Supabase, Vercel, and a cron job that hammers my grading endpoint every 60 seconds. Most of it written alongside Claude Code.
College football starts tomorrow and NFL Week 1 is September 10. If you have a group chat that argues about this stuff every Sunday, that's the entire use case. Set up a league, invite them, let the standings settle it.

It's my first product and I'm sure there are bugs. Tell me what sucks.
