Chief Minister has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister @narendramodi and Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship @jayantrld for approving Strategic Investment Plans (SIPs) worth ₹475.41 crore under PM-SETU to upgrade key ITI clusters across Jammu & Kashmir.
Under this initiative, the Jammu ITI Cluster comprising ITI Jammu as hub along with R.S. Pura, Nowshera, Samba, and Kathua as spokes will be upgraded with an SIP of ₹240 Crore.
Similarly, the Srinagar ITI Cluster with ITI Srinagar as hub along with Ganderbal, Kangan, Budgam, and Charar-i-Sharief as spokes will be modernized with an SIP of ₹235.41 Crore.
Chief Minister said the initiative will modernise training infrastructure, strengthen industry linkages and equip J&K’s youth with job-ready skills and better employment opportunities.

PM-SETU: One Year of Transforming India’s ITIs
🔹 #PMSETU focuses on upgrading Government 1000 #ITIs through a Hub-and-Spoke model and industry-aligned training
🔹 The scheme also provides for capacity augmentation of five NSTIs through National Centres of Excellence. Industry participation is incorporated through Strategic Investment Plans, Special Purpose Vehicles and Anchor Industry Partners
🔹 The scheme introduces new-age courses covering emerging technologies and occupations. International partnerships support advanced skilling at selected NSTIs
🔹 The initiative has also expanded implementation across States and Union Territories through State Steering Committees and industry participation. Its one-year progress includes the identification of 850 ITIs and approval of 14 ITI clusters. Planned skill labs further extend vocational exposure to students

A new milestone in industry-led skilling under #PMSETU!
The National Steering Committee has approved a ₹320 crore Strategic Investment Plan for the Kurukshetra ITI Cluster in Haryana, with Jindal Naveen Avsar Limited as the Anchor Industry Partner.
With this, cumulative PM-SETU investment reaches ₹2,491 crore across 10 ITI clusters, strengthening modern infrastructure, industry-aligned training, apprenticeships and employment pathways for youth.
Under the hub-and-spoke model, 7 government ITIs will be transformed into a more industry-responsive and future-ready skilling ecosystem.
