Thanks to our good friends at cow.fi, I'm happy to announce that zeromev.org is back up and running in *realtime*.
Website and API data.zeromev.org/docs. The whole shebang! 🥳
So grateful to cow.fi for their continued support.
Same in the US then.
No-one is talking about Trump, Russia, Ukraine, Musk, DOGE, Tariffs, Market Crash, or anything like that.
For sure.
Definitely real.
After 3 years of publishing real-time MEV data, zeromev.org will continue, but serving historical data only.
The API is available here data.zeromev.org/docs.
Full source code for every component of the system here github.com/zeromev/zeromev-c….
I'm happy to announce that the full zeromev.org codebase is now open source.
Extractor, classifier, web server, web client and API included.
At a loose end over the hols? Follow the guide to get your very own zeromev on a single VM 🌲🎁.

In what world does exploiting a weakness as much as possible end up in anything other than more weakness.
Not this one.
Enshrined weakness.
JaredFromSubway says @libevm's dashboard is the most accurate
he even said others are misleading.
so in 2023
-total MEV $270M
-tipped $180M
that's +0.3% APY to the 28M ETH staked ($61,000,000,000)
this is the "CentrAliZing FOrcE" we avoided by centralizing block builders🤯🤦♂️
I'm sorry this happened to you @zawarudoNFT. I'm afraid you're not alone.
Nice thread- other protections would be to transact on a fair ordered L2 like @arbitrum, or look at @CoWSwap.
These can protect you from CEX/DEX frontrunning arbs as well as sandwich attacks.
"Stat arb" is not an appropriate term for frontrunning DEX users against low latency CEX feeds.
Whenever you hear "stat arb" with regards to MEV, it likely involves frontrunning.
I recommend @DeGatchi 's very informative podcast with the MEV searcher @0x9212ce55 (0xprincess). Here is some policy-relevant background info I found especially interesting:
“To be competitive in the current block-building market you have to do sandwiching (…) It basically doubles your block-building profit.”
“I may be wrong but [I think that] the current leaders in the block-building market - except Flashbots, of course - are deeply tied with stat arb teams that are arbing CEX-es with DEX-es. So the major part of their block-builder revenues are coming from this. So not even sandwiches, but stat arb.”
Still no frontrunning (toxic MEV) mitigation after 4 versions?
How about simple, effective measures like lowering auto slippage during low volatility rather than gifting it to frontrunners?
1/ Today, we’re announcing our vision for Uniswap v4 🦄
We see Uniswap as core financial infrastructure & think it should be built in public with space for community feedback and contribution.
An early implementation of the code can be found here:

Must read post from @PropellerSwap and @thegostep's Frontier.
A clear explanation of what works in DeFi and what doesn't, ending with a host of pragmatic (often novel) solutions to those issues.
Great stuff.
Exchanges are defi’s biggest win so far. But CEX volume still dominates. Here’s a summary of DEX weaknesses, and how to fix them. 🧵

Better MEV data = Better DeFi
We've just released a small but significant upgrade to the Zeromev API (v1.0.1)
You can now filter by transaction destination, as well as source
This makes it as easy to view MEV by smart contract / DAO as it is by user wallet
mevTransactions and mevTransactionsSummary now accept either address_to or address_from
In the case of mevTransactions you can supply both parameters for finely tuned filtering
For those already building, don't worry- this is a non breaking change
Full documentation / endpoints available here

Thanks for reading- stay tuned, more coming!
Some of the first data I've seen quantifying MEV on L2s
🔥After spending weeks on triple-checking, improving and re running our research, I am excited to announce that @0xpanoramix and I just published a summary of our research on "Quantifying MEV on L2s" for Flashbots.
Optimism and Arbitrum results are in. Polygon to follow soon.

Great analysis from @EigenPhi. Vastly less sandwiching on @CoWSwap vs Uniswap even today, and the cost of the remainder is anyway shouldered by the solvers not the users.
Single clearing price batch auctions are the future of L1 DeFi.
Replying to @EigenPhi
4/10 In 2022, CoW Swap executed approximately 282K trades through Uniswap, 1.3K of which suffered 🥪 attacks in Uniswap pools. The percentage of attacks is 0.047%. In contrast, Uniswap had 39.6M trades in 2022, with attacks on 0.5M. The rate of trades attacked is 1.26%.
It's vital to address the monopolization of blockspace by frontrunners.
This proposal gives MEV mitigators (@CoWSwap @chainlink @project_shutter etc) access to blockspace while increasing validator rewards.
Got more to say, but this is a must have for MEV-Boost / PBS IMO.
MEV exploitation may seem inevitable in a world of profit-maximizing validators—with resulting harm to users. We believe it's not. We propose a different way in a new system called PROF. @KushalBabel @iseriohn42 @_mahimna

@barnabemonnot this is what I was referring to about improving PBS. Interested in your take
