Practice is perfect:
Sleep like the dead,
Rise new in the morning,
Do something messiah like
By noon.
Hate & love will hound you.
Repeat.
Trump invokes the 5th Amendment. He won’t say things that incriminate himself. OK. So hopefully the government can do so without his testimony. He won’t help them, fair enough. But when the facts are assembled, maybe he won’t have to do the deed. It will be done for him.

The Lambeth Two-Step… where one accepts the call to dance, or sits it out with tea and conversation, but never says NO. What a mess.

I made this art installation to evoke recollection of that number: 1000 M (the Roman numeral for 1000) on 20 banners. Representing 1 million. Prayer flags for the fallen.
Along about now almost all the counters say the same.. we have reached or passed the 1 million number of covid-19 deaths in the US, in just on 28 months. It is as if everyone in the state of Delaware (where I live) was gone - for ever.

Prez wants to dominate by pushing the old accusations that its the “anarchists, antifa, destroyers of property” gang who are using the protests to their own ends. I’m not buying it. facebook.com/1064188971/post…

There are echos of deep
Holiness and grace
In the quiet of winter
Afternoons, when the dogs
And their mistress
And I all settle into our
Separate but conjoined spaces,
Some to nap,
some to dream,
And I to witness
To the wonder of this peace
Where all our souls
At last are home.
I am resisting,
resisting
damn near everyone
who claims
my allegiance,
by making me want
what they promise
pulling the strings
of my desire,
the strings of need,
of greed,
who plays the puppeteer.
cutting the strings,
I give the anarchist
middle finger
fuck you salute.
Resist!
In the past I have written twitter poems and now that the length of a tweet as been extended, I am starting again. The idea is to write poems that are exactly the length of a tweet. Exactly. Whether or not they are any good, of course, is another matter.
The cusp between light
And grim gloom,
Is an odd place for a party,
Yet here we are.
The sun goes down on America
I see the loveliness in her wistful smile.
She whispers, “I am consumed.”
The setting sun illuminates her body.
She says, “It’s over,
Dance with me one more time.”
Given all the weirdness of this day and the strange desire to yell at the top of my voice that the ship is sinking, it’s time for me to settle down and listen to “love and mercy.” Good song for learning to bless in a time of disaster.... youtu.be/NdkG9M5sx3o
Three years ago I came home to Lewes from two months of radiation and chemotherapy at Dana Farber, to be met by this crowd at the bridge over the canal. It was Inauguration Day and I thought at... facebook.com/story.php?story…
