.@_parrotfinance went on Shark Tank earlier this year and got @LoriGreiner + Rashaun Williams onboard. The product is basically social investing follow hedge funds, CEOs, politicians and other investors, then invest around what they’re doing. What stood out to me wasn’t necessarily the “copy politicians and get rich” angle. It was how excited Rashaun was about Parrot as a consumer fintech product. This is someone who invested early in both Coinbase & Robinhood. He’s watched two completely different generations of retail trading take off. And on the crypto/solana side, Axiom + FOMO show how quickly retail trading products can scale when execution is fast and discovery is built into the experience. People want trading to be faster, simpler, more social, and closer to where they already spend their time. IMO FOMO is the much more explosive version of the Parrot thesis, except it actually fits how people trade today. No subscription (like parrot). Just fees on txs. Anyone can use it. Find traders, check their socials, PnLs, theses, trades, listings, then act instantly. No KYC, no waiting, no friction. Trading itself is becoming a social product and crypto has a structural advantage because of the speed, accessibility and efficiency of onchain markets. Social trading is only getting bigger. For memes, @fomo is already crushing it. And for perps + stocks, @Lexur is building directly into the same shift.

People aren’t even looking at social trading the right way. When you look back at the good ole NFT days, the only reason why it was cool to have a Bored Ape was because you could go on X, have the hexagon pfp, be part of that community, grow your personal account, build a following around it, etc. Nowadays, you make a fomo account, connect your X, hit a crazy trade, people start following you because of it, and slowly you build a community around yourself and your trades. And there’s really no question that being an influencer is one of the most +EV things you can do, if you do it correctly.
