It aligns with Acts of the Apostles 18:2 where Paul said that Claudius had ordered all Jews to leave Rome. It sounds like most Romans didn’t differentiate between Christian and non-Christian Jews yet. In 64 AD Nero, only Christians were punished so by then Romans saw them as separate from Jews. The question is was Seutonius learning about “Chrestus” from Christians or did he have independent sources for his existence?
