Alexi out performed all other Illinois statewide winners last night demonstrating serious voter preference going into the Chicago mayor’s race. If some candidates get knocked off the municipal ballot the real question is, can Alexi win out right in the first round.
Big winner in Illinois last night was Alexi Giannoulias. He was the biggest statewide vote getter demonstrating widespread support going into the Chicago mayors race.
Quietly, while Sacks went to war spending millions against CTU The SEIU did very well in the school board elections winning 9 races including the school board President. This should go a long way to help protect thousands of CPS working families. Bravo!
Hey Susana, this is the message voters sent yesterday. Remember just a few days ago when you told the business community at lunch that you would bring more data centers to Chicago? washingtonpost.com/technolog…
Rarely do I agree with Frank but he is right. CTU was outspent 5-1 and fought Michael Sacks to a draw. It was a net loss of seats for the Mayor and CTU but not an outright loss. Sacks and his political team have proven again to have little ability to affect Chicago elections.
Interesting moves on mayoral petition challenges but the big losers are Brandon Johnson who can ill afford more controversy and Susana Mendoza. This effectively freezes Mendoza’s campaign for the duration of the challenge period making it near impossible for her to raise money.
Susana The Spork Mendoza catches a serious challenge. If she doesn’t make the ballot where will the Right Wing / Ed Burke vote in this election? Kelly, I suppose. And where do Landon and the vulture capital bros go? Oh, the horror!
For the first time in the history of Chicago politics a sitting mayor will face a serious petition challenge. Let the games begin.
Mayoral candidate Willie Wilson to file objection to @Brandon4Chicago petitions this afternoon. Wilson says the mayor has between 5 to 7K valid signatures when 12.5K are required. The mayor’s campaign spokesman says the mayor will remain on the ballot. @nbcchicago
Apparently I’m not the only one disgusted by Haley Stevens betrayal. Most of her staff have quit in protest. I suppose they are “cosplaying” as well. She must be sanctioned by the party and kicked out if rules allow it. aol.com/articles/more-half-h…
Democrats should drum Haley Stevens out of the party. She has got to go. This is about control of the Senate and she is acting on personal beefs. This is the kind of shit that got Trump elected in the first place.
Haley Stevens appears at event with Mike Rogers.

Trade unionists and union members should be appalled by this. Most unions outlawed the practice of double dipping salaries decades ago. Just another example of the lack of respect SDG has for her own members.
Recent pay hike approved by @iftaft for @stacydavisgates bumping her from $180K to $250K. Most recent published reports say she also received $195K as head @CTULocal1 in 2025 for a total now of $445K
Very good placement for Alexi. Bad for Susana. With a large field of candidates, campaigns prefer top of ballot or bottom. Susana is smack-dab in the middle with little hope of improving much. Her campaign spork won’t do her much good w that placement.
Johnson’s petitions are perhaps the worst mess ever seen. It makes you wonder if his people turned that garbage in on purpose so he has an excuse to get out of the race. We know Stacey wouldn’t take no for an answer and spent the summer looking for a replacement candidate.
What we found in @Brandon4Chicago petitions … another candidate’s petitions tossed in as well as photocopies. You must file originals. Look for a challenge.

So Susana the spork Mendoza gave her big policy speech today at the City Club luncheon and guess what she’s pushing? Her new handlers, the venture capital bros want data centers and Waymo in Chicago so Susana has to oblige. But here is where those policies originated:
