Holy shit this. The tech ai bro culture drives me crazy. The stress of losing a job is bad enough, don't kick people while they're down.
personal take: as much as I'm techno optimist, I genuinely dislike it when people on X dunk on regular folk for criticizing AI
a company has told everyone they will lose their jobs, many companies did layoffs, people have families. on top of saying all the layoffs are necessary so AI proves econ value until it cures the cancer or saves planet but they did anything but those so far
you might be making a ton from AI, many don't. some people also found a ton of purpose from their work which is gone. I'm not saying we should console people but maybe also don't dunk on a frustrated mass? the field is already detested and this is not helping

there is no ChatGPT moment for robotics
capability can skyrocket “overnight” but adoption is the long horizon
all the opportunity belongs to those who can make adoption work. its a game of march of 9s (reliability), the last mile (deployment), and keeping it running (support).
When is the ChatGPT moment for robotics?
Some say it's happened, some say it's coming. How capable are Physical AI models today? What does the adoption curve for robotics look like?
We've talked to most of the major players and make sense of it here

Introducing Gemini API CLI (gemini-api), now available in preview!
Our CLI gives your agent power to generate images, videos, text-to-speech, or music, analyze media, transcribe audio, or manage agents.
No more guessing model strings, throwaway scripts or endless curl.

Already looking forward to the end of winter. Going to take a month to rip out a big grass lawn, put in paths, a shade tree, pollinator plants galore, irrigation, and mulch. Doubt I'll get to my vegetable boxes, which breaks my heart a bit, but doing little by little.
I think I need more people to even get close to this :p
So many SO-ARMs! 💪
Here is the robotics workshop organized at @NVIDIAGTC Berlin that uses SO-ARM101 and LeRobot to control real and simulated robotic arms. The light box makes it easier to get policies working in any location and light conditions.

We’re rolling out Gemini 4 Argon in Antigravity to paid Google AI Pro subscribers today. Demand has been incredible and we've scaled capacity deliberately to get here. We’ve rolled out a separate weekly-only Argon quota for Pro on top of the existing Gemini bucket for 3.8 Flash so you have the best of Gemini for all your tasks.
Dear spies: we just moved and our almost 3 year old daughter could use more friends. Meet us at the park and bring snacks.
OPENAI to EMPLOYEES: If someone is trying to seduce you, first consider — could they be a spy???
OpenAI is warning its employees about honeypot spies and strangers with children in playgrounds ... a very fun one with @georgia_wells and @MeghanBobrowsky:

Gemini 4 Argon taught a robot to play cornhole just by watching a video.
It mapped the physics, coded its own simulation, and taught @Apptronik's Apollo humanoid to sink 7 throws in a row.

Gemini 4 Argon is here! 🔥
It opens up a new frontier of intelligence for physical AI, including understanding, simulating, and learning complex, real-world physical tasks that matter for robotics 🦾 .
Here’s an example of how:
🎥 Argon watched a raw video of a human playing cornhole
🦾 It mapped the spatial coordinates of the environment, and calculated the required whole-body joint movements.
💻 It autonomously built the simulation code with MuJoCo, and then it practice in real
🎯 When transferred onto @Apptronik’s Apollo humanoid, the robot quickly sank seven consecutive shots in a real-world trial 🤯 .
This "Video-to-Sim-to-Real" pipeline compresses weeks of manual modeling into a few hours and is a step change across physical AI.

I've gotten four separate messages from people today (on top of the multiple I get a week) trying to sell robotics data. Y'all, it's saturated. Check into new problems.

PSA:
Robotics has a “data problem”, ONLY if you believe that throwing more data at the current algo/“model” will lead to generalized robotics.
Every winter since I moved to Colorado, I've worked on the basics of a new skill. This winter it's going to be sewing clothes so I can do better on the soft parts of costumes. Aww yeah.

This is why I don't talk about features I love in Google products - I didn't realize this wasn't public yet. Copying and pasting code as markdown from AI Studio for organizing notes is pretty killer.
