YouTuber Tim Pan folded an iPhone Duo 10,000 times to see what the screen crease would look like after years of use. Here's the before and after:

Not an accurate representation though because quickly doing it introduces a lot more energy and thus wear into the matte screen protector thing But also Apple has said the matte is a cover that is intended to be replaceable to get back to initial quality so as long as the screen itself is fine then this is not a problem

You just need to stop at 9,999 times of folding.

Selling point: "No crease" Small text: "for the first 10 seconds of use"

The phone isn’t meant to be folded 10000x in one day. This is dumb

That takes about 5 years to do based on normal use. We got a bunch of idi**s in the comments raging with an IQ of a pegion. 😂

Years of use. People replace their iPhone every 2-3 years. So it’s expected.

Corporate needs you to find the difference between these two pictures.

iPhone Duo: $1,999 to fold your money in half
iPhone Duo: Apple wants $1,999 for a beta test. I'll pass

Even at zero folds you can clearly see the big crease.

Not my problem I change phone every year

Not comparable. Folding and unfolding at that speed creates heat and friction, you don't do that in normal use.

That's still in some pretty harsh lighting though. But good on Apple for making another Airpods-level disposable product (a 2000$ one at that)

God, this world has the dumbest people on the planet…. Imagine grabbing a new phone and beating it to death over and over and over again….. do you think the crease after folding it 10,000 times in a span of 6 months is going to look like this? It’s not… just dumb fucking reviews

Ok so I can unfold this phone 27 times a day for the next year until the iPhone duo 2 comes out. Cool.

His video is HANDS DOWN one of the best videos I’ve watched!

25 opens a day for a year is over 9,000 already

If this was Sam Altman he would of murked Tim pan for exposing this

First of all that’s like 30 unfolds a day. That’s excessive. Secondly, the frequency of 10k folds in a short period of time adds a variable (heat) friction from moving will change the test compared to 10k stretched out over years.

So what? Now show the Samsung and others under the same scenario.

In other news water has scientifically been confirmed to be wet 🙄 It's simply amazing what passes for a news story or a YouTube video anymore tbh

I doubt anyone is going to keep this phone long enough to notice it this much.

Imagine not realizing companies do this themselves during R&D. What a fucking waste
