Patrick was one of those icons who we somehow all took for granted would always be with us.
I grew up as a fan, and was later gifted the privilege of becoming a colleague and friend, working with him for many years on “American Dad!”, “Family Guy”, and “Ted”. He was that rare actor who could take any bit of dialogue and elevate it, making a good writer sound great, and a great writer sound masterful. He was also as humble as they come. I remember exchanging emails with him a number of years ago when he was beginning day 1 of a new film. He commented to me that he always walked onto a new set feeling like the biggest novice there. My stunned reaction was the same as anyone’s would be. I said, “Patrick, if you feel that way, the rest of us are screwed.” We have lost a legendary actor today, and for many of us, a good friend. He will be deeply missed by the entire planet.
I'm heartbroken by the state of the Steam Next Fest front page, grifters have made it impossible to sift through their lazy garbage to find anything human-made.
I'm going to create a thread below of games that have demos that I think look interesting 🧵

My problem with the ridiculous decision is very simple: who initiated this entire situation? Adrian Siemieniec did. A highly intelligent coach, repeatedly described as one of the smartest young coaches in Poland, made the conscious decision to contact a referee and seek prohibited assistance regarding another referee before a match. Are we seriously supposed to believe that a UEFA Pro-level coach does not understand that this crosses a fundamental ethical line? He didn't know that you simply DO NOT try to create a channel to the referee before a match?
Yet the man who initiated the contact gets six matches and PLN 100,000, while the assistant referee who did not initiate any approach gets TWO YEARS out of football. Explain that proportionality to me. Wójcik absolutely deserves punishment for participating and failing to report it, but two years compared with six matches for the person who actually started the entire process is absurd.
And then look at the comparison: Gonçalo Feio allegedly accused referees of corruption and got 5 matches. Siemieniec allegedly initiated prohibited and illegal contact with a referee before a match and got six matches. Yet Wójcik, who did not initiate the approach, received a 2 YEAR disqualification. Just crazy!
If Polish football wants credibility, punishment has to reflect responsibility. You cannot punish the person who responded more severely than the person whose deliberate action created the entire situation in the first place and then call that justice.
This absurd and questionable decision has set Polish football back 30 years!
My directness, lack of Politics and honesty will probably piss off some powerful people in Polish football, but quite frankly, I D.G.F.
There are always double standards in life. But Polish football sometimes takes them to an Olympic level.
Here are some serious question & concerns about Adrian Siemieniec Scandal.
If this were Lechia Gdańsk and Paolo Urfer, what would the reaction and consequences be? Five points deducted? Ten Points deducted? One year Suspension? Front pages for two months?
If the coach were Gonçalo Feio, would people already be demanding he be suspended for the entire season?
Feio was given five matches and a PLN 20,000 fine for WORDS directed at referees.
Here we are discussing something far more important and serious: communication concerning refereeing, impacting outcome of a future game, and yellow cards before an Ekstraklasa match. Serious Conversations about effecting outcome of actual league matches.
This is not about whether Adrian Siemieniec is a nice guy, a talented young coach, Polish super star, Portuguese, Canadian or from Mars.
The standard must be the SAME for everyone!
And there are questions that somehow nobody seems very interested in asking.
Why did a club coach have direct access to referees phone numbers in the first place?
How many Ekstraklasa referees' phone numbers does he have?
How many messages, calls or conversations with other referees have taken place during the last three seasons?
Were other matches, cards, suspensions or players ever discussed in the last 3 years?
Has anyone actually checked?
Because one league match does not affect only two clubs. Decisions involving cards, suspensions and player availability will affect the competitive position of 17 other teams.
So instead of deciding who we like and who we don't like, investigate everything.
Check the phones. Check the messages. Check the history. Establish the facts. Let the Police and Prosecutor office talk to everyone.
Then apply exactly the same rules and exactly the same punishment that would be applied if the names were Feio, Urfer, Colak, Haditaghi or anyone else.
That is called integrity.
Everything else is just another Polish football double standard.
Happy to see Blizzard listened to the community. I honestly hope and pray to see new changes in the future to bring some hype back. But I also wanna share, that Blizzard was meeting with us about HomeStoryCup 30 and is open to find ways to support us and that means a lot to me 🙏
So so cool!
I built a working StarCraft level with Sonnet 5.5.
You play Terran, defending your base against the Zerg:
→ Build Marines, Siege Tanks, and Battlecruisers
→ Use SC2 models from Sketchfab (by Catholomew)
→ Music generated with Suno

Sonnet also made the sizzle reel below. Check out my latest tutorial on Sonnet here: youtu.be/MLnsMIbibZY
Full first episode of Backrooms!!
Backrooms Nemoris S1E01: It Eats Light
I've spent the last six months working in secret on this pilot episode for a new Backrooms canon. We premiered this week in Toronto and a it's now available on all platforms: a new Magnific Originals series!
This is quite possibly the most complex project I've ever taken on in my life. Yep, even if that sounds like an exaggeration, it took even more effort than building the first version of Magnific Upscaler.
I had never before tried to bring such a concrete, specific vision to the screen while pushing the current state of the art as far as possible. Every scene you see in this episode, every object, every movement of a character's hands, every space, every hum of the fluorescent lights... it's all there for a very specific reason, with absolute control and intention on my part. I never imagined that something that looks so simple on the surface could be so incredibly complicated.
The script is my own, based on the original Backrooms concept (the iconic 4chan image) but developed to create an entirely new canon from scratch. In this first episode, I reveal barely more around 5% of the overall puzzle, so you may end up thinking: what the f*ck did I just watch? Or you may need multiple viewings to pick up on some extra clues, because several of them are genuinely hidden. The idea is to create a full 10 episode series, an anthology, and have you, the viewers, gradually piece together the puzzle yourselves as the clues are revealed.
Beyond the video and image generations, I did all of the editing in DaVinci Resolve, with particular attention to the sound. I'd say around 60% of the time I spent on this project went into sound. In some scenes, there are more than 13 stereo tracks layered at the same time, using sounds I recorded myself or created and edited from generations and foley libraries. Every sound, every voice, and every gasp is designed to pull you into the world of the story and make you feel like you're actually there. That meant spending an enormous amount of time on sound design, thinking about things like the individual position of each sound in space, EQ, reverb to simulate different environments, the sense of immersion, etc. I've never learned so much about something so quickly.
As for the generations, a few numbers:
• 12 hours of total generated video for 17 minutes of final footage 🤯
• More than 7,000 generations in total.
• An average of around 60 generations for every 15 seconds of final footage.
• 6 months of work, including many weekends, with just one person behind the whole thing... I almost lost my mind.
• Platform: Magnific, of course. Models: mainly Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 for video generations, and Nano Banana Pro and Seedream 5 for image references.
• Approximately $20,000 in total token costs, not including the value of my own time.
For the next episodes, I can't do this alone again or I'll go crazy. My plan is to put together a small team: voice actors, a colorist, 3D VFX artists, a sound designer, and, in general, people from the traditional film industry who can help us professionalize our pipeline and take this story to another level. If you're reading this and you think you might be interested, please leave a comment.
Ah! If you have any technical questions about how this was made, I'd be happy to answer them. Feel free to ask me anything you like!
Anyway, I'll leave you with the episode. For the love of everything holy: please watch it at home, relaxed, on a big screen, with a good sound system or a quality pair of headphones, the lights off, and some popcorn.
And most importantly, enjoy.

I’m the new president of Wizards of the Coast. Here's the new live-action streaming series I just greenlit.
Only actors who look like the characters depicted in these paintings and described in the text will be considered. Necessary adjustments like Raistlin's gold skin and Tasslehoff's height will obviously be achieved with make-up and/or camera tricks, respectively.
The costuming, weapons, armor and creature designs will also match those of the classic hand-painted illustrations as well as the text, and will be just as colorful.
The story will follow that of the novels, and the only changes that might occur will be those that serve the difference in mediums, nothing will be "corrected" or modernized. Changes for the sake of current day award eligibility will not be considered.
