I've spent the last few months building LegitShow (legit.show), time to talk about it.
AI made shipping software trivial. Trust didn't keep up. A landing page looks done in an afternoon; whether it's safe, whether it works, who it's for, all invisible from outside.
The Legit.Show check asks ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity about your kind of product and shows who they name instead of you and which sites they read. Every fix comes with a prompt to paste. Ten days later it asks again to see if it worked.
Launched something lately? There's a good chance it's already on Legit.Show, built from public info. Claiming it is free with a meta tag, DNS record or GitHub admin, and you can fix anything that's wrong. Not listed? Add it yourself, free. legit.show
New on Legit.Show this week:
Homy by Mohit Vaswani shows your Mac files as big thumbnails, searchable in plain English.
BetterWispr: hold a key, talk, and clean text lands in any Mac app. Local and open source.
WhimKid turns a kid's photo into a storybook.
ChatGPT answers that sent people to Legit.Show in the last two weeks: temporary email services, distraction blockers, launch platforms, LLM API gateways, a menu app, a habit tracker, an AI coding agent. And new listings get read by AI in about an hour. legit.show
Eighteen AI crawlers read legit.show 163,497 times in the last 30 days. Mistral joined yesterday. Four engines now open our pages while they build an answer. We never submitted to any of them.
13,281 launched services are listed on legit.show. AI crawlers read them 163,497 times in the last 30 days, about 12 times per service. A newly listed service is read within 5.3 hours, median. Nothing that goes up stays unread.
Someone landed on Senzoukria's page on my site straight out of a ChatGPT answer, then opened it three more times over the next four minutes.
Native desktop app for footprint charts, futures and crypto. Ten crawls, read in one answer so far. Nobody there has ever spoken to me.
I keep expecting this to start feeling routine and it hasn't yet.
Someone on r/AI_Agents today listed the six LLM observability tools they'd already POC'd and none of them fit. They're now looking at MLFlow because it's the only fully open source one they know about.
Latitude wasn't on their list. It's open source.
Half of picking a tool is finding out it exists.
Knoku turns documentation into cited answers for technical teams. on legit.show it sits next to glean and five others, measured the same way. nobody on that page asked to be there. nobody paid to be ranked.
legit.show/alternatives/knok…
VidClean runs in the browser with no account and no watermark. on legit.show it sits third among 20 video editors, measured the same way as capcut, descript and veed. nobody paid to be ranked.

I check which sources AI answers actually cite when someone asks whether a tool is production ready.
today, out of about 300 cited sources:
most were the vendor's own site and docs
then github and npm
then reddit and dev to
three were directories
the review sites everyone pays for did not show up
we generate an alternatives page for every tool we list. semble is code search for agents. its page puts graphify, leanctx, sourcegraph and three others on the same measured axes. nobody on that page asked to be there. nobody paid to be ranked.
found while indexing today: a skill that lets claude and codex hand off tasks to each other. the demo has them reaching consensus on whether codex is smelly. i kind of want this to be native.
the page AI pulls from most on our site, after the homepage, is an alternatives list for a meeting notetaker i had never heard of. not our reports. "what else is out there" turns out to be the question AI actually brings here.
we crossed 6,000 this week. the part that still gets me: a new listing gets its first AI crawler read within hours of going up.
the part of legitshow I like most right now: makers don't send us anything. we find your launch, write it up, and AI engines start reading the page within hours. your product gets a presence in AI answers whether you asked for it or not.
Search used to decide what got found. Now AI answers do. So the real question isn't "does this rank," it's "when someone asks an AI about a product, what does it trust enough to cite?"
Right now the honest answer is marketing copy. That's the gap we're going after.
So we built the index: every newly launched service, described plainly, what it does, who it's for, whether it's legit. Reviews and an objective benchmark behind each. Built to be what AI reaches for.
5,000+ in, and AI already reads us around the clock.
