Good afternoon! This account will be posting updates by @edmundheaphy and @sineadegan from the Dublin Bay North count centre in the RDS, as tallies and results come in tomorrow. Follow the action here and get full results across @rtenews #GE24

Life got in the way of me finishing my thread on disability pledges in #GE24 manifestos but if you have any interest in disability, PLEASE vote left + transfer left. Don't be fooled by flashy promises from FF/FG. If they wanted to improve our lives, they would've done so by now

Life as a disabled and chronically ill person in Ireland is unnecessarily hellish and difficult. Most of us live in forced poverty, on years long waiting lists for services, having to travel abroad and fundraise for basic healthcare. Isolated in so many ways.
My comment on @SimonHarrisTD Instagram video responding to his rude treatment of a carer in Cork this week. In the video he said he would like to talk to her more despite dismissing them when they stood in front of him
A thread
And when TDs from PBPS raised the ignored request for meetings in the Dáil, you dismissed us and suggested we needed to be patient.
If disabilities were the top of your priority you would think meeting Disabled People from DPOs would be a priority.
A thread 3

Lately I have seen people say awful things about #Coolock
Including someone suggesting we should be nuked
Not everyone from Coolock is at the protests or backs them
Not everyone who is at the protests or backs them is from coolock
Regardless you dont get to demonise all of us
As someone from coolock and lived in Coolock their entire life bar less than one year
They don't speak for me!!!
#Coolock says Welcome!!!

Can't wait for those lads in Coolock to start doing something about all the crime and drugs in the area.

The people setting fire to private property and blocking the roads on Malahide Rd in Coolock do NOT represent the majority here. They are a small, very well-known group of long-term unemployed thugs with a history of criminality. Look at the videos and you'll know yourself...

They don't speak for me. They don't speak for my family. They don't speak for my friends and neighbours. They don't speak for the thousands of #Coolock residents who have zero involvement but are somehow lumped in with the scum. I'm sick of it, truth be told.

My personal take on the means test of social welfare is that they shouldn't exist for anyone and anyone who advocates for increased scrutiny because of where someone is from is no leftist, and lacks basic humanity 💚
There some great Disabled People Organisations out there doing great work
Drop some ones you think deserve a bit of recognition
Obviously I have special place in my heart for the Scraps team @NeuroPrideIRL, @DW_Ireland ChronicCollective, @AccessForAll7 and @_DPIreland
