#FSN2018 #E3 Martin Barker's presentation on GoT's lurkers has reinforced my opinion that what makes a fan a fan it's how they put their selves into the media products they read/watch/play with matter how much they produce.

Rather, that they want to watch for themselves, how it's being critiqued, etc. They don't want to engage with "fandom" and its emotionality necessarily, but get a lot of critical enjoyment out of fantasy. #E3 #FSN2018

Basically, what this suggests is that we need to rethink lurkers: that they are not unthinking, without a clear position of their own. #E3 #FSN2018

Sansa is "relatable." (Barker also brings up "Cat Person" and this idea of 'relateablity') #E3 #FSN2018

There are some fascinating patterns emerging in the data in terms of favorite characters- "fans" (who produce) are much less interested in Tyrion and much more interested in Sansa, for example. #E3 #FSN2018

Tyrion is clearly the favorite character, followed by Jon and Arya. #E3 #FSN2018

17 audience grouping emerged: series alone, series plus (watch and debate), happy consumers (collecting and interestingly, visiting), book readers, fans, gamers, watchers (not doing, but lurking)... #E3 #FSN2018
