Kudos to @FOXFOOTY Ray Chamberlain segment (did I spell that correctly). Those that watch it know that’s a correct call. Hard to cop for hawks supporter, get it. If it wasn’t paid ump wouldn’t be in GF! Great game!

Another Saturday here again. Very interesting to see the return of Star Of Jamaica @Racing_QLD Eagle Farm. Decent horse to watch. Gelded. But the Travis Harrison Cup tomorrow will be the must watch of the weekend imho!

Too true…. There is a fix to this issue. Jo touches on it perfectly, as always.

It’s time to tell the truth about the real challenge we face rehoming thoroughbreds. If you have the time to listen thanks 🙏 there’s a very big elephant in the room.

Sad to hear the news this evening of Brian Markovic. Loved his calls. Moonee Valley on a Saturday night was his! Thinking of his family especially after such a long battle with heath. RIP

Harness Racing Victoria is deeply saddened by the passing of long-time Victorian harness racing caller Brian Markovic. His passion for the sport, wealth of knowledge and unmistakable voice left a lasting impact on harness racing. He will be greatly missed. 💔

This Saturday at the Curragh 💜🐎 Since 2019, the Pat Smullen Race Day, Cycle & Charity Race have raised almost €1m for Cancer Trials Ireland. That support has opened 4 trials, giving 174 patients access to new treatment options. Next: more trials & screening with @graokane With huge thanks to the Smullen family and the wider racing community for making this possible. #CancerNeedsTrials #PatSmullen @hannah_smullen @francescrowley @AngelaClaytonL1 @CurraghTo @curraghrace

The latest news in Australian harness racing today. No trainers or drivers made the cut for a farmer wants a wife 🤔 @TheTrotsComAu

Great read Matt!

This week’s Winning Post column. Lee Freedman’s barely reported decision to retire draws the curtain on an extraordinary career of a complicated man. Have a read.

Worth reading Nahed’s posts. I don’t know who was wrong or right so long ago re these battles. Perspective is alway viewed through rose coloured glasses, but it’s damn clear what is not right no matter which side of the fence you view from.

Today I didn’t do any journalistic work. I left the house to the market to find anything to eat. I found nothing. No one found anything. How do I enter the room of my family, how do i tell my mother, that they have to starve another night tonight? Tell me what should I tell them?

Peak performances at 12f and yet unaccountably not considered "just" a Jumps sire by the thoroughbred world's fastest ascending nation. 😕

Feeling for @skyracing race callers, that just had their careers & purpose instantly ended. Not right if this has all happened without notice, without transition opportunities. Committed for their providers. Years of learning just wiped. Life changing in the worst way!

Read my latest op-ed in today's @FinancialReview. I have serious concerns about the illogical and unfair taxing of unrealised gains in superannuation proposed by @AustralianLabor, and the significant negative impact of this tax on the $4.2 trillion in superannuation assets in Australia.
