Glad I'm not alone! They confuse the hell out of me, too!
Even as a 6 year old, I always wondered what happened to that little rocket sled after each launch!! Loved the show.

Some distracting colour casts aside, this is a superb film which is well worth your time. A couple of lovely pre-M6 WCML scenes near Dilliacar, in the Lune Gorge. Good stuff!

Passionate, articulate and accurate, especially about the orange piece of lard in the White House. This clip is going viral and so it should.
A wonderful insight into an incredible railway. Amazing on every level - from the spectacularly bleak conditions to the worn-out engines and the stupidity of railtour pax in the 1960s! Brew up and enjoy! The Cromford and High Peak railway . youtu.be/SATZqKyjqVA?si=EhDo… via @YouTube
George Takei is remembering his longtime “loyal friend” and “Star Trek” co-star Walter Koenig, who died Sunday in Los Angeles:
“My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades,” the post continued. “When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man. Just last month, on Sept. 14, he turned 90, on the same day Brad and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. I will always treasure that he and I shared that date. Walter was more than Chekov. He was a writer, a teacher, a thoughtful man, and a loyal friend. To the fans who loved him for so many years, thank you. He loved you too. Rest well, my dear friend. Keep navigating a steady course.”

We need more of this in Britain. Reboot civic pride and cobble the streets. Cobbled streets provide exceptional longevity (a properly installed cobblestone street can last for hundreds of years), natural water management, built-in speed reductions and a timeless aesthetic value.

Credit where credit is due. Durham county council re cobbled this street and it looks brilliant

“That song has stuck there for ages. It’s part of my repertoire because I’m pleased with it and it’s quite respected. People pick up on it for a variety of reasons. I still have the dream now." - Robyn Hitchcock on his 1984 song 'I Often Dream of Trains' (6/8)
