This is probably the most important publication we have published for trainees and senior oncologists alike. This provides answers to almost every question you have about surrogate endpoints in oncology. This is a must-read for anyone with an interest in cancer trials. FREE!

We have 2 trials of bispecific antibodies in lung cancer open and running @ChelwestFT In fact, recruited the first patients in Europe to both of these 🦸
Bispecific antibodies (bsAbs) allow therapeutic applications that cannot be achieved using conventional antibodies. There are 14 bsAbs approved: 11 for cancer & 3 for non-oncology indications. This review summarizes this very active field, including bsAb signaling pathway modulators, tumor-targeted receptor agonists, ADC, bispecific T cell, natural killer cell & checkpoint inhibitors.nature.com/articles/s41573-0…

With the rising incidence of #colorectal #cancer (particularly in younger adults) this really is a ‘tidal wave’ of a response curve - can’t wait for the phase 3 RCT! @kevinjmonahan @bowelcanceruk @bhmullish @PaulKMiddleton @ravindhi
Ecstatic and proud to share the NICHE-2 results, now published in @NEJM. Out of 111 pts, 95% had an MPR , and 68% a pCR after only 4 weeks of #neoadjuvant #immunotherapy. Grateful to the pts and colleagues who made this possible. @HaanenJohn nej.md/3Ku4X0H

Cervical cancer will be almost eliminated in coming decades if HPV vaccination rates are high in children. In England HPV vaccination coverage in schools is rising again but still below pre-pandemic levels. Please encourage children to get protected. gov.uk/government/statistics…

I don't know who needs to know this more ( oncologist or patients or both ) But this is one of the best piece about cancer and diet misinformation in @TheLancetOncol. Say NO to ketogenic diets , alkaline diets as treatment options. Say NO to Quackery .

Once again #CancerWaitingTimes targets continued to be missed. Today’s figures are yet another snapshot of the challenges facing England’s cancer services and strong evidence for the Government that things need to change. cruk.ink/3Rl7Lli In July 2023, the 62-day target of 85% was not met, with only 62.6% of people starting treatment for cancer within 62-days of an urgent referral. These figures are among the worst on record and represent anxious delays for patients and indicate immense pressure on NHS staff. People affected by cancer deserve more. Through strong leadership and proper funding, @SteveBarclay and the government have the power to put an end to unacceptable waits. Later this year, @CR_UK will be publishing its #CancerManifesto, a blueprint for politicians on how to strengthen cancer research and transform cancer care and outcomes.

In the last 50 years, we’ve helped double cancer survival in the UK – but we’re not stopping there. We’re finding new ways to outsmart cancer, so more moments like these can happen. Your donations help fund trials and treatments to change the lives of people affected by cancer.

I’m sad to say that IMHO, every NHS oncologist in any of the devolved nations of the United Kingdom will relate to this. This genuinely reflects the issues currently going on within NHS cancer services. Beautifully and eloquently described by @lucygoss. #NHS75 @SteveBarclay – at London, England
I’m an oncologist and I love my job. But I’m striking because I know first-hand that the NHS is failing our patients with cancer and I’m striking because I know first-hand that the NHS is failing its workforce. lucygossage.com/my-reasons-f… #ConsultantsStrike
