🆘🆘 FANNY (ID 268008), 5 YO, FEMALE – IN QUEENS ACC - came into the shelter as a stray on 10/12/2026. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 10/31/26 ➡️ MEDICAL PRIORITY – NEEDS MORE CARE AND ATTENTION THAN THE SHELTER CAN PROVIDE –IN FELINE ICU😱😱😱 ➡️ 🆘🆘 1ST Chance on Emergency Placement List – VERY URGENT – 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 18 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ FANNY IS ON THE EPL FOR MEDICAL REASONS - . Fanny has an aural hematoma, likely due to chronic otitis and ear mites. While her hematoma is healing, the chronic changes to Fanny's ear make it difficult to treat her ear issues to resolution as her right ear canal is significantly narrowed. She needs frequent cleanings and medication application and will need veterinary follow up. Behaviorally, Fanny is very sweet and loves pets, but she has escalated to swatting with claws in while having her ears cleaned. This evaluation/diagnosis means that FANNY will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 What my friends at ACC say about me: My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet! I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles! My purr motor is always running! I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me. A volunteer writes: I heard Fanny's purrs as soon as I walked into the room but couldn't quite place where they were coming from. It was from Fanny who was curled up simply purring to herself. Fanny hasn't been dealt a fair hand, but her good hearted efforts and smile in response to coming up short don't stop her from trying and also break my heart. Fanny walked herself into someone's home several times and, eventually appearing a little worse for wear, was brought to us for some medical attention and a surer path to a forever home. She curled around my hand as soon as I offered it and continued purring, sharing her heart and her hope that things will turn her way any day now. Fanny interacts with the observer, appreciates attention and is easy to handle. 🆘🆘 MILO (ID 260794), 1 YO, MALE – IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 8/17/2026, with the surrender reason stated as animal behavior - aggressive towards people. 🆘🆘 😿 😿 😿 😿 ➡️TBD 10/29/26 ➡️ NEW HOPE PARTNER RESCUE ONLY ➡️ ONLY A BABY – JUST BEGINNING LIFE ➡️ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST ➡️🆘🆘 6TH CHANCE ON EMERGENCY PLACEMENT LIST – VERY RARE – SHELTER AT CAPACITY - COULD BE LAST CALL FOR MILO- VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK– 🆘🆘 😱🔥🔥😱 ➡️ 72 DAYS IN SHELTER – TOO LONG – TIME IS RUNNING OUT ➡️ MILO IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display challenging behavior during interactions. He is extremely intelligent and high energy, and needs to expend energy constructively with interactive play sessions 3-4X/day. In addition to playtime, this cat would also benefit from mental exercise from activities such as puzzle toys/games, lick mats, or clicker training. Without providing activity for his mind and body, the cat may react with rough play, potentially resulting in bite/scratch incidents. - This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption.🔥🔥🔥🔥 I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together! A volunteer writes: Milo wants to be part of the action, he just isn't always sure how to explain that to people. This is relatable and I feel for him. He's a go, go, go, go kind of cat who wants to do all this going at his own pace. Milo's improved quite a bit since coming to us and seems characteristically eager to demonstrate this through repeatedly leaping off his den with a flourish. Since I wasn't entirely sure where Milo was going with this, I offered a pipe cleaner feather, which happily kept his interest for a few moments before he decided nuzzles were better. Then he decided that it was probably best to see the town, as it were, leaning his whole little cat self over my arm in his efforts to get just a tiny bit better view. TOM-ATO IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS -While he does display social behavior, he is prone to overstimulation and displays challenging behavior during interactions and in a home environment. He is extremely intelligent and high energy, and needs to expend energy constructively with interactive play sessions 3-4X/day.
