Delap & Dibbling as our attackers and Russel Martin as our manager if Wilcox got his way. How’s he still in a job? 😤😭
🚨 NEW: Before Manchester United’s FA Cup final victory over Manchester City in 2024, Erik ten Hag was under major pressure and Jason Wilcox and others involved put forward several candidates as possible replacements. One person Wilcox spoke highly of was Russell Martin, whom he had appointed the previous summer in his role as Southampton’s director of football. #MUFC [@TheAthleticFC]

🚨 Roy Keane has questioned Manchester United's permanent appointment of Michael Carrick in the first place: 🗣️ “If I hear one more person tell me he's a great guy and he loves the club. What's that got to do with it? This has nothing to do with his personality. “Ultimately, you've got to get players to run for you. “We can all name a few managers who might be good options. That doesn't mean it's going to work out, but you still have to look at the best option. “The owners have many responsibilities, but they have to appoint the best-in-class manager for Manchester United because the manager is the most important appointment at a football club. Fact.” 👏

🚨 Roy Keane has a habit of cutting through all the noise and getting straight to the heart of the issue. As usual, he's absolutely spot on here. 👏 (🎥 @WeAreTheOverlap)

We watched English pundits & journos lie abt Amorim & that his system is defensive. Man Utd had most shots btw. Stats showed Utd were improving & facing normal rebuild issues. Ex players wanted a title winning form. Same pundits feeling sad for Carrick.

A group of hungry young men came to our club that’s been struggling for 13 years and fans chased them away because they want quick fixes.
Do you know why Manchester United scored more set pieces last season? It was because of Amorims set piece coach Carlos Fernandes. After the Rabiot goal yesterday they all went to congratulate him.

🚨🚨| Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox spotted looking frustrated at Stamford Bridge. A reminder that the pair backed Michael Carrick after the last game, with Manchester United now down to 10 men and 2-0 down.

Actually jealous of Brentford Bournemouth Brighton and how they are run
💰🗣️ Brentford owner Matthew Benham: "We could have signed Eberechi Eze for £4m in 2019. We could also have signed Omar Marmoush on a free about three years ago." "We could have signed both for about £4m combined. The summer we got promoted to the Premier League, there was actually two players that scouted amazingly, amazingly well... one was Mudryk which was maybe a bit complicated if we signed, although we were quite close to signing him for a low fee, for about €20m. Eventually, he went for more like €80m." "Then Michael Olise, his scouting was unbelievable, out of this world but we just got promoted and we weren't used to the crazy agent fees in the Premier League at the time." "The agent fee for that one was so insanely high that we stepped away, even though there was part of us thinking 'well, if you combine the agent fee and the transfer fee, it's kind of not too bad,' but the agent fee on its own was just so insane that we stepped away. There's always going to be ones you miss out on." (MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston, Massachusetts via @Football_LDN)

Jamie Carragher on Bruno Fernandes: “When he talks about pressing, whether it's man-to-man or zonal, for years, Bruno Fernandes has meant Manchester United can't press because he does things for the crowd. I commentate on games watching Man United and he runs all over the place like a kid in the schoolyard for the supporters. They all think he's working hard. He's not. He's killing the rest of the team doing it.” [@CBSSportsGolazo] #MUFC

Anyone believing Man Utd’s results & performances this season are down to the fact they haven’t got a back up left back & another striker are deluded.
No squad is perfect & has two top players for every position, especially one that’s underperformed & missed out on CL as much as Man Utd. Rashford/Cunha/Zirkzee/Mbeumo are better options than Man City have. City have a midfielder as 1st choice RB & the Lewis role is Dorgu at MU.

I've supported United for 30 years. I don't need to be told I don't have the right priorities in mind. I would much rather we were all happy than miserable for approaching 14 years and counting. I know Martinez is right but I choose to look at how the hell it gets fixed.

This whole "if you don't agree with Martinez you don't want what's best for this football club" line I've seen thrown around is a nonsense btw. It's a multi-faceted point of frustration. Divide as first priority - no room for reasoned conversation

Andrey Santos did well last night. Not sure why he has been underused so far this season.
Spoke to Andrey Santos after #mufc’s defeat. Insists Carrick retains the backing of the players

No one is saying the Man United squad doesn’t need to be improved. It does. But the money isn’t there to do it quickly over a couple of windows. That’s on the Glazers, not Wilcox, Berrada or Carrick. If Martinez wants to win more games then maybe don’t get stomped on by Solanke.

Because he saw all along that United were unfit, poor in fundamentals, weak minded, and that there was a cultural problem which kept this cycle repeating (we're back in it again!!!). He continually tried to get to the root of those problems. The results didn't come but people were willing to stick it out because he was trying to address the ACTUAL issues once and for all. Now, we've had a guy come in, mask over the problems for a fun 6 months, and now things have turned again. We're right back in the down part of the cycle which leads to the manager leaving. With nobody there to deal with the root causes.
Why is their Amorim revisionism happening? This guy literally lost to Tottenham Hotspur…in a final.

🚨 HANG ON A MINUTE! For months, some Manchester City, Newcastle and rival supporters accused Manchester United of planning to use taxpayers' money to build a new stadium. Yet now we're discussing reports of £55m in public funding to Manchester City owners despite the enormous wealth behind their ownership. There's an important distinction between public investment in surrounding infrastructure and this, but that distinction should apply to EVERY club. Where was this same scrutiny when the accusations were aimed at Manchester United? The double standards are staggering.
🚨 EXPOSED: ANDY BURNHAM HANDED 55 MILLION POUNDS OF TAXPAYER CASH TO MAN CITY OWNERS! Remember when Burnham panicked on national television last month to fiercely defend Manchester City against Premier League financial cheating charges? Now I have the official paper trail explaining exactly why he acts like a dedicated public relations agent for the United Arab Emirates! Official records prove that during his time as mayor, Burnham personally chaired the meetings that handed 55 million pounds in taxpayer loans to Jersey based property companies ultimately controlled by Man City owner Sheikh Mansour. This cash was drained straight out of a 300 million pound state housing fund supposedly reserved for struggling local developers. Instead of helping British builders construct homes, Burnham rubber stamped a massive taxpayer loan for the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates! Sheikh Mansour is one of the richest men on the planet and could secure private corporate finance in thirty seconds. Yet Burnham gave a foreign billionaire preferential access to a public cash machine funded entirely by your hard earned wages!!!!! Labour politicians are bleeding the domestic working class dry with brutal taxes while secretly operating a VIP fast lane for Middle Eastern royalty. Retweet this investigation immediately to expose Andy Burnham and demand a full parliamentary inquiry into this Man City money scandal. 🇬🇧🔥
