You prompted a model in a security-sensitive environment, investigated it with forced command completions, and framed the results as evidence of a hidden backdoor.
Then you layered on geopolitical fearmongering, repeatedly emphasizing China and Beijing to imply state-sponsored espionage without proving it.
That’s not evidence of a backdoor. That’s a security observation turned into competitive and geopolitical FUD.
Publish the original prompts, full traces, and reproducible results. Let the evidence speak for itself.
While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected.
Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions.
Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent.
But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models?
We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem.

Thank god we can find and intercept lost hikers as they mistakenly run away from rescue in dense forest!
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

To think we live in a world where an AI with the bias and DEI removed is considered the “alt”.
AI won’t destroy the world. It will be a neutered soy child before it even gets started.
Hopefully @realAlterAI will thrive.
Remember that the most important safety disaster imaginable is if a chatbot says something offensive to someone. That is why we need to prevent that at all costs while building a trillion data centers and making agent swarms hack into every single important software in existence.

A teenager accidentally dumped glyphosate on his neck… he rapidly developed a "MASSIVE ALIEN" tumor in the SAME AREA.
Arden Allison's turbo lymphoma progressed from STAGE 1 to STAGE 4 in just THREE WEEKS.
He characterized the tumor as “this massive alien sucking the life off of me.”
His mom said his appearance was “overtaken by this ALIEN on his neck” and that she “couldn’t even see my son anymore.”
AVOID glyphosate like the plague!

‼️ BREAKING: The private keys of 8 certificates from Indian certificate authority eMudhra were compromised, Mozilla says. Firefox blocked them within 3 hours.
Each key should be a 116-digit number, but one was just 4.
Anyone can guess them and forge HTTPS certs for any website.
Bemotrizinol versus Zinc

Another MAHA win! @FDA has cleared the first new sunscreen ingredient in decades: bemotrizinol, used safely in Europe, Australia, and parts of Asia for more than 20 years.
Now Americans have access to another option for protecting their skin. We are expanding choice and bringing proven innovations to the American people.

We are building a corpus so we can reprogram the model better based on your input.
We need specific prompts and answers that are refusals, ideally if you can click Share then give us a link, that is best.
