⚠️ DANGEROUS SITUATION UNFOLDING IN THE MELBOURNE/PALM BAY AREAS. AVOID TRAVEL UNLESS IT IS AN ABSOLUTE EMERGENCY!!!! ⚠️ Many roads throughout the metro are impassable due to high water making travel difficult to impossible. Canals are overflowing their banks. And water entry into homes is likely in areas. @PalmBayPD has advised residents to stay off the roads. @brevard_k12 has closed schools for today due to flooding. @BrevardClerk courthouses are closed as well. More heavy rain is expected. #FLwx

Per @NHC_Atlantic, #Isaias is quickly intensifying over the Gulf this afternoon. Now a 65mph Tropical Storm. Hurricane, Tropical Storm, and Storm Surge Watches are up along the northern Gulf Coast

Good morning. #Isaias has formed over the Gulf as of this morning. And is expected to rapidly intensify in a favorable environment marked with high moisture, warm SSTs, and low wind shear.

Watches are likely to be issued some time on Wednesday for portions of the Gulf coast. Still too early to say exactly where landfall will take place, and the storm is expected to grow in size, so all residents from the Florida Panhandle to Louisiana should remain alert

11pm ET/10 CT update on TD 9, soon to become #Isaias. Forecasted to become a tropical storm Weds and a #hurricane before landfall. Currently forecasted to landfall along the north-central Gulf coast with wind/rain impacts for the western Panhandle at this time.

Conditions are favorable for near rapid intensification over waters in the mid-80s and low shear. However, as the system moves north and approaches the coast, shear is expected to increase. Regardless, this system is expected to remain a hurricane through landfall.

Flew the path of the tornado earlier
Both London and Somerset got extremely lucky, the path is at least half a mile wide in between the two cities

WOW!
The CFS long-range forecast accumulated supercell parameter shows a VERY ACTIVE week 3 of March (march 12-19) for severe weather and likely tornadoes. This area will be focused from the southern Plains with arms to the Midwest and Dixie Alley. This is a great tool from @gensiniwx of NIU meteorology.
Storm chase mode is about to be activated

NEXT WEEK: Probably will be the 1st 'real' and widespread risk of severe storms and tornadoes for the spring season. Talkin Tuesday and Wednesday as a strong low winds up over northern Missouri tracking towards Chicago. Between a warm front and dry line, severe storms likely. To what extent can not be predicted this far out but somewhere could have an enhanced risk.
2nd image shows the entire area that I think may have some risk for strong-severe storms. After the dashed line denotes Wednesday risk into the FL Panhandle and Alabama/Georgia. Questions remain with how far north the threat will be. Euro shown below brings severe potential up to southern Illinois, other models keep the instability south.
This will probably be the start of a very busy March (busier than "normal" is my expectation given the forecast pattern the entire month) for severe weather. Tornado season is about to really kick into high gear I do believe esp. starting the 2nd week of March. Remember this spring, find a trusted source. Now more than ever for hurricanes and severe storm outbreaks many feed of clicks and hysteria that is posted online. This is not a place for that :)
