Literally mind-blowing news that Carrick is now staying albeit probably gone after Saturday. It's unbelievable one minute he's getting sacked now on hold. Tight arsed sods it's madness ๐ก They couldn't care less about us and relegation bring on more humiliation now #ManUtd
They should have stepped up in the summer and coughed up then for top players Carrick wanted and we wouldn't be in this bloody mess ๐๐๐
The cost of dismissing Michael Carrick four months into a two-year contract, combined with the inevitable exits of staff and the price of hiring a replacement, could be considerable for #mufc [@lauriewhitwell]
Another day for us #ManUtd fans to wait while these clowns deliberate on Carrick's future. I've never know such incompetent human beings in all my life. Michael doesn't deserve this am I sacked or not shit. I still love and respect him. My guess he's staying till next game.
Congratulations to Harry Kane on winning the Ballon d'Or tonight. A phenomenal football player and fantastic role model. So well deserved ๐ ๐

Michael Carrick has asked #MUFC if he is taking training sessions tomorrow morning.
Oh my days this is so embarrassing they all need to go what a bloody mess and you can't blame any managers asking these questions... Shit show on the pitch and even worse behind the scenes ๐๐
๐จ EXCLUSIVE:
Manchester Unitedโs managerial discussions have reportedly exposed an uncomfortable reality: the most experienced candidates want firm commitments from the hierarchy before agreeing to replace Michael Carrick.
The clubโs prestige is not in question. Confidence in the conditions a new manager would inherit is.
One experienced candidate is understood to have made his position clear during an initial discussion:
โYouโre asking me how I would change Manchester United. Before I answer that, I need to know what Manchester United are prepared to change.โ
Recruitment authority, backing over player departures and clear responsibility for football decisions are understood to be central to those conversations. Candidates want to know who would support them when difficult decisions begin affecting established players.
One question reportedly caused particular discomfort:
โIf we disagree over a player in January, whose decision stands?โ
There is growing frustration internally that these discussions have become necessary while Carrick remains in charge. Some figures are reluctant to authorise another change without an agreement they can confidently defend.
That hesitation is understood to extend beyond the choice of successor.
Replacing Carrick would inevitably raise questions about the process that secured his appointment, the assurances made at the time and who should take responsibility if another reset becomes necessary.
One senior figure reportedly challenged the room:
โIf weโve concluded he isnโt the right manager, keeping him there because weโre afraid of explaining ourselves is unfair on him as well.โ
Behind the scenes, the strongest candidates are reportedly asking for something United have struggled to provide: clear answers before they commit their careers.
โThey know the size of the opportunity,โ one figure involved in the discussions said. โThey also know who usually gets the blame.โ
