FC Redwing Sunday team (Southend and Basildon Div 1) looking for a friendly and referee this Sunday 22nd August. Pitch sorted for a 12pm kick off. Similar level ideal. @fffinderuk @SouthendSunday @EssexCountyFA
With the firm support of FC Redwing the club the FCR Saturday Vets will be moving to join the set up at @RunwellsportsFc from the 21/22 season. Huge thanks to FCR for the team’s inaugural 20/21 season.
This site will be duly repurposed for the remaining FCR Adult Sunday side.
FCR Vets were concerned with no regular keeper and key absences again @GrovesVets would make it 3/3 in matches between us. Unfortunately they had greater resource challenges than ourselves otherwise we know it would have been a different game.
Another less than solid performance to lose 4-1 in a game we should do better in. Despite key resource absences, and some bad luck with major decisions, first half we really were not at the races going in 3-0. Adjustment at HT saw a better second half but damage done first half.
A poor display in testing wind conditions today saw us wake up at 2-0 down mid way through the second half, only to take the lead and lose it again, with close to the final kick of the game. 3-3 it finished and a point a piece. Goals ⚽️⚽️David C ⚽️ Walshy.
Game day 5 of 9 in the @EssexVetsLeague mini league, and our FCR Vets travel to Witham to face @ValleyGreenYFC Vets. We recall a flat but hard playing surface which should be made perfect by the much needed rain. Best of luck to both sides hoping it is a decent game! ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Decent result for the Vets this week against a solid @RavensVets team that started on the front foot. However a change in formation and improved communication and movement saw us up 1-0 at the break. A much stronger 2nd half FCR took control with 4 more goals to seal the win 5-0
A much better performance today saw us lose a very tight contest v @shen_vets_res in the final minute of the game. A hint of offside but then a fair number of strange decisions throughout. Both teams fought for the victory in an even contest just a tad disappointing to lose it!
Whilst not the best performance today a 5-2 see’s FCRV start with 2 victories. Lethargy in the warm up set the scene for a less than pleasing performance - we have to do better next week! Still a second win in the @EssexVetsLeague mini league. ⚽️⚽️ Ox ⚽️ Rory ⚽️ Chris L ⚽️ Dave D
The FCR Vets are again at home this Saturday 17th April 21 v Woodham Radars Vets Reserves @FcWoodham. 2 pm KO. Going to be a tough game but let’s try to build on a decent first game back. ⚽️⚽️⚽️
First game back as we started the @EssexVetsLeague mini league. Home to Burnham Ramblers and a solid performance returned a 4-1 Victory for the Reds. Excellent result today, well played all. ⚽️⚽️Rory, ⚽️ Tony, ⚽️ Rob B
After months of lockdown: running, bike rides, and finally training sessions, Vets will start their mini season at home on Saturday 10th April v Burnham Ramblers Vets. One more training session before then to sharpen up, test the stamina and re-ignite the camaraderie ⚽️⚽️⚽️
FC Redwing Vets on lookout for non-playing Manager. Anyone interested in organising a group of young “pretenders” please DM 👍⚽️
