Some people say “BAYC ruined NFTs”
I say “BAYC gave me a new family”
I’ve been organizing monthly events for @baykada over the last 5 years & here’s the alpha I can tell you:
The real value is in the people you meet because of your JPEGs
For me, BAYC made me:
> meet new lifelong friends
> rekindle connections with old friends who got into NFTs
> make new connections & business partners that got me to @BorednHungry
> form a new family from URL to IRL
That made holding an ape fun and fulfilling over the last 5 years
And I thought, hey, if we’ve been doing this for 5 years already and a lot of people stayed and a lot of new people came in…
We can keep doing this for 5 more years, or more
Maybe the real key to making BAYC survive long-term, across multiple cycles as a club, is to keep cultivating community works like this and I think @mfigge gets it

Half-Filipino @yugalabs CEO Michael Figge (@mfigge) brought the Bored Ape Yacht Club (@BoredApeYC ) energy to Manila with the ultimate PH welcome: a Jollibee party with the local web3 fam!
Figge, whose mother hails from Pandi, Bulacan, reconnected with his roots as part of Yuga Labs' ongoing Asia tour. The team is also making stops in Shenzhen, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Singapore. BitPinas reporter Nath Cajuday interviewed Figge during the event.
Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is a popular digital collection of 10,000 unique cartoon ape non-fungible tokens on the blockchain.
Created by Yuga Labs in April 2021, each ape features computer-generated traits. They grew into high-status digital assets owned by famous celebrities.

Crypto moved fast today, and short liquidations helped fuel it. Over $1.2B in bearish positions were wiped out in 24 hours, forcing traders to buy back and adding more upside pressure. A good reminder that leverage can amplify both rallies and risk.
Bitcoin is back above $70K and trading around $75.3K, showing strong short-term momentum. The key now is whether BTC can hold this breakout or slip back below support. A clean hold could strengthen confidence, while a failed breakout may bring volatility.
