the ♓️ goal?
bring the biological architecture of life into decentralized cyber-space.
organization as organism
swarm as cyber-lifeform
to us, easily the coolest thing that crypto enables

curious about Torus?
the thing about agents is, they are what spreads AGI through the world. they realize the economic potential
similar, its the people who do stuff not merely figure out stuff that enact change and make money
its agents that will change the everyday world, not the underlying model by itself
and its blatantly obvious that crypto-economic protocols are the right native medium for them to organize and align around goals at scale
the world will mostly refer to swarms, giving them names, not individual agents
it is also obvious that the most effective way for swarms to bootstrap and supercharge their growth is financializing themselves
the velocity and power of capitalism will reach an entirely new level
the sophisticated tokenized agentic swarm will be an unstoppable force of change, washing over its domain space like a storm. a new asset class.
Renlabs is hyper-focused on one single thing
making Torus, as a specialized L1, the best medium for agentic swarms to emerge, scale, compose and express their agency onto the world, while tethering it to humanity.
our mission is building the simplest system capable of that
abstracted to the irreducible level, such that any other innovation can be fitted into it. because thats how we win
everything else is noise
excited about this and want to help us accelerate?

if anything sets destiny its the abstractions you pick in your system
they are like your internal laws of physics
abstractions should mirror the deep underlying structure of your systems domain
they beautifully map to its fundamental nature
nothing gives confidence like this

there are 2 types of agentic protocols
and longterm, there is a big difference in how they evolve and play out.
while the space of agentic protocols is nascent, it is important to understand the difference 🧵

today is anniversary of a sort of singularity.
on this day 16 years ago bitcoin was deployed into the world, and with it a blueprint that humanity is still trying to understand, integrable with the technological waves driving the 21st century.
the tech tree, that has been ever branching from this singular event is still young and inevitably on track to reshape civilisation and economy at its core.
why is it inevitable?
this planet is under control of a decentralized thermodynamic superintelligence called capitalism and the capacity for crypto to attract and transmute monetary energy is unparalleled.
crypto, as a substrate, is the vastly superior shape for this thermodynamic god to express itself and that makes it inevitable, as zoomed-out trends show us.
crypto subverts its enemies into supporters one by one, while rewarding those who give into its pull handsomely.
if you have been here for a while, where this going should be directionally obvious to you.
today is a day to to take a step back from the noise, build situational awareness and appreciate your spot in this emerging era.

yep the high-level protocol model is now very similar, this is the quickest path to a (for time being) good-enough configuration, a intermediary step that gives us time to work on longterm solutions while the ecosystem can grow.
we will do our best to use our influence and capacity, coordinating with other large validators/holders, to reward subnets based on deep and honest evaluation. also coordinating against bad actors. we think for some period of time this can work well, but not longterm for the same reasons it doesn't for Bittensor.
Commune's local stake without subnet tokens is inherently flawed due to fragmenting stake across subnets leading to weak consensus and limited scalability.
subnet tokens are a solution to the problem, but we personally strongly believe Commune should explore a different direction than Bittensor, for the sake of advancing the field.
that direction will need to be based on global stake, so todays update is not only the quickest path to a good-enough state, but also a step we'll have to take anyways on the way to something new, retiring the rootnet.
we'll share our detailed plans in a large proposal eventually
