So I thought I'd start a thread on bike stuff, mostly tools I've made for bike repair. I'm no inventor, mostly copies of commercially available tools. I do like making/fabricating and thought this may interest someone here on #biketwitter. I'll try an add something every day.

Choosing a bike rather than a car for short trips would save the public in Montreal more than 1 billion/year, a report reveals…if each 1-way trip of 10km or less was by bike or public transport, around 1.7 billion could be saved each year. #CityMakingMath lapresse.ca/actualites/grand…

Hello @BCFerries I am wondering if I can ride my bicycle onto the ferry with my kayak trailer attached, and if there is an additional charge for that. route is Swartz bay to southern gulf islands. (Saturna and Mayne) Thanks.

Another cop shot him
Earlier today, one of our officers was shot while protecting our subway system. I am relieved to report he is in good condition now, and we have arrested the suspect who put so many lives in danger. I cannot thank these officers enough for their bravery.

A long overdue thread of my experience on the Xiamen BRT, a 67km long fully grade separated BRT that carries over 300,000 people per day and wants to be a metro.

Train ridership in the Netherlands has doubled over the past two decades. This has been achieved not by increasing station coverage, but by increasing station access through targeted investments in cycling infrastructure, secure parking and shared bikes. peopleforbikes.org/news/utre…

My column. Response to anti-bike lane talking points • We can’t afford them. • Nobody rides a bike. • Winnipeg is a winter city. • Winnipeg is a car city. • Cyclists should pay for them. • They take parking from business. • They make driving worse. winnipegfreepress.com/breaki…

Texas widened I-10 from 8 lanes to 22 in 2005. Travel times INCREASED by 33% afterwards. They only spent $2.8 billion to do so. When you spend billions to get the opposite effect of what you intend, how is this not government waste? From City Limits by @megankimble
