Things my mental illness sometimes stops me doing.. • picking up the phone • leaving the house • eating healthy • exercising • laughing • doing my hair or makeup • getting dressed Sometimes being able to do one of these things is a victory. Retweet if you understand

Our first ECMO transfer.💚 This week we worked with our clinical partner team ECMO in Leicester to safely transfer a patient in just 1 hour 26 mins. Whereas the journey via road would have taken 3hrs 38 mins. 🚁 To read bit.ly/3HRSpQc @PICULeicester @LeicChildHosp

If on shift someone asks you (especially the nurse-in-charge) whether you have had something to eat or drink, it’s not just your stomach they are inquiring about. They may well be noticing your behaviour is changing & giving you a gentle nudge. rolobotrambles.com/perishift…

In the early hours of New Year’s Day 2018 I was raped while unconscious by someone I trusted. This was the beginning of a cycle of abuse that lasted years. His friends and family knew but said no one would believe me. They were wrong. He spent New Year’s Day 2023 behind bars.

Today my great grandmother, Lily Ebert, an Auschwitz survivor, turns 99! “I never thought I would survive Auschwitz and have another birthday. At 99, I celebrate to show that the Nazis did not win!” All #HappyBirthdayLily wishes and comments will be passed on to Lily. ❤️

29th December 2022.  Vivienne Westwood died today, peacefully and surrounded by her family, in Clapham, South London. The world needs people like Vivienne to make a change for the better.

Passive suicidal ideation is so common in trauma survivors that many don't bother to even mention it when they're being assessed-- it's just always there. It becomes like the barely noticeable background music in a TV show.

Today, when I was walking with my 18 yr old son we talked about the concept that, ‘one day I carried him for the last time’. That idea you put a young child down & never pick them up again. We decided that was unacceptable so I gave him a piggy back for 20 yds.
