PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT TEXAS LEGASLTURE IS PLANNING
The 2027 Draft of the Texas Water Plan makes one thing very clear:
Texas is preparing for massive future water demand and groundwater is a major target!!!
Now is your turn to stand up and have your voices heard.
The state is openly discussing:
โข groundwater development
โข streamlined permitting
โข desalination
โข aquifer storage
โข AI/data center demand
โข expanding infrastructure projects
They are projecting nearly $174 BILLION in future water infrastructure needs.
What does that mean for rural communities?
It means places with strong aquifers, open land, and private wells are increasingly being looked at for large-scale groundwater production and export projects.
Many people still think:
โThey canโt take our water.โ
But once contracts, pipelines, permits, and investors get involved, things change quickly.
RIGHT NOW the state is accepting PUBLIC COMMENT on the Draft 2027 State Water Plan and this is one of the few chances rural Texans have to get concerns officially on record.

โข water quality
โข aquifer depletion
โข agriculture
โข future generations
NOW is the time to speak up.
Because once these projects are built, itโs a whole lot harder to stop them.

The government is preparing to seize homes and land using eminent domain for the construction of a Data Center in Coweta County, Georgia
This Americanโs childhood home is being โtaken by force by Georgia Power. Homeowners in this county do not have a choiceโ
It affects over 330 private properties. Georgia Power says it will negotiate purchases and easements and use eminent domain
Georgia Power claims its to strengthen the grid for the growing energy demand in Georgia (due to many new data centers)
The lines are widely linked to Project Sail, a massive proposed hyperscale data center campus that will span 829 acres

Woman who lives only 1.6 miles from the META Data Center in Wisconsin speaks out
She says their water system has been completely destroyed
She says there is discharge that turns the entire river white like milk. She paid for testing and found extremely high heavy metal levels
โI live on a horse farm and I am an educator. I, for almost four 50 years, a natural creek has flowed through my property. It's 20 feet wide, up to four feet deep. It has persisted through drought, flood, seasonal change. It's part of a connected system. Groundwater, tributaries, watersheds, aquifers ultimately flowing into Beaver Dam Lake. Until construction began upstream on the data center, its behavior was stable and predictable
After construction started, all of that changed. Here in Beaver Dam, the creek began to stop flowing entirely without rainfall. It would abruptly return off in cloudy and opaque like milk, with enough force to cause drastic erosion and damage โ Water testing on my property shows elevated strontium, a very dangerous metal, and other indicators consistent with deep groundwater influenceโ

It was a bright, sunny Spring day this morning. I watched all of this particulate come out of plains in the form of massive plumes or higher emission trails, spread, absorb water and now block out the sky. A blue spring day we will never get back.

Data centers in Texas are not required to use closed-loop systems.
They should be.
These projects consume massive amounts of water and electricity, yet counties have no power to stop them.
Local governments should be empowered to deny AI projects and pass moratoriums on their development.
Water is life. Local control matters.
